Connections

It's weird how sometimes you have to spend hours doing various activities and talking about ridiculous things just to feel slightly close to someone. And with other people, you click, just like that. It's like you've known each other for years. Maybe its fate, or maybe its something crazier, like a past life or a parallel universe. We'll probably never know. But whatever the reason, its an incredible feeling. Like, you haven't got a care in the world. Everything is forgotten, problems are buried in the back of your mind for the time being, because the excitement and love for this new connection is so overwhelming. Your head goes into overdrive, asking question after question after question, being so intrigued by this new person everything else appears to have disappeared. The wonderful carelessness takes over. That single connection is so powerful that you seem to become infinitely close, and you never want to let go.

"Envy?" Dan sings, dragging me from my thoughts.

I refocus my eyes and stare blankly around, looking for Dan. A huge weight is suddenly on my back pulling me towards the ground, and a voice in my ear yelling "Onward, Envy!"

I laugh at Dan's immaturity. Hooking my arms under his legs I start running - well, awkwardly waddling as fast as I can under his weight - and laugh at his fist stuck in the air.

We run through the streets of Manchester, playing tag and hide and seek, acting like children and giggling all the way home. We eventually reach our apartment block, running in through the main doors and racing eachother to the lift only to see "OUT OF ORDER - PLEASE USE STAIRS" scrawled on a sheet of paper. I turn slowly towards Dan with an evil grin on my face.

"I'll race you." I challenge.

He matches my expression, placing his hands on his hips. "Deal. One, two, th- hey! That's cheating!" He yells after me, but I'm already almost half way up the first flight of stairs. I hear his feet thud against the linoleum after me, making me shriek and almost fall over in the rush of adrenaline. We run upwards for what seems like hours, but by the time we stop, we've actually only reached the fifth floor.

"Damn it, Envy!" Dan laughs breathlessly as we collapse in a heap at the foot of the sixth flight of stairs.

"I win," I giggle.

Dan moves his head from my lap with a look of mock anger on his face. Still completely out of breath, he begins dragging himself up the stairs again in a desperate attempt to beat me. I stumble after him, knowing I'll win this race, as he has no idea whereabouts in this apartment I live.

We stagger up fourteen flights of stairs, and just as he's about to throw himself up another, I turn and run in the other direction, through the door the leads to my apartment. Dan groans behind me and I hear his shoes pad warily along the deep red fluffy carpet as I fumble in my pocket for my keys. I quickly jam them in the door in a mad giggly rush to make sure I beat Dan, screeching with laughter as he tackles me to the ground once again.

"You can't beat me up in my own home Daniel!" I yell, fighting to get out from underneath him.

For the third time today we end up in a bundle on the floor, catching our breath and laughing at each other, the beginning of a friendship bursting into colour and making me smile at more than just his terrible jokes.

HEY.

So tonight is one of those nights where I just don't feel like sleeping, so I'm probably going to add like a hundred chapters to this story. And possibly one or both of the other ATL ones, but this one most definitely. They'll probably be quite short, crap chapters but I'm really in the mood for writing this after the Dan and Phil show tonight... So yeah, look forward to that.

Or not, you know, either's fine.

Luv u bbys. Vote/comment/share if you feel like it, it makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. TY.
