The Forman's Living Room

9:04am

The Forman's are gathered around the coffee table, staring at the contents of the package they just opened.

"What is it?" Kitty says.

"It's so...futuristic," Eric says.

"Read the card again, Red," Kitty demands.

"'Hi der, ho der neighbors,' oh god, do I really have to read this?" Red asks. Kitty glares at him. Red groans and continues. "'Florida is hot and the bait shop is going great. One of my clients bought me one of these cordless phones and I think they're spectacular. Couldn't think of anyone who needed one more than my old friends back home. Enjoy and call me as soon as you get it. Hugs and kisses, Bob. P.S. Red, that means you'. We have to bury this thing in the backyard or I'm going to have to call Bob."

"I wonder if it works," Eric says.

"Let's plug it in!" Kitty says eagerly.

"Wait! What if it sends signals back to Bob? Please, Kitty, I beg you, don't make me call Bob," Red says.

Eric plugs in the new phone. "Who do we call first?"

"Not Bob!" Red cries.

Eric dials.

"Hello?" Donna answers.

"It works!" Eric shouts with glee. "Donna, your dad just sent us the coolest thing!"

"Ah, the cordless phone," Donna says, "yeah, he wanted to send it to me, but my dorm room is 8 foot square, so I don't really need it. Do you like it?"

"Do I like it? I could be on the Death Star with this!" Eric says. Red rolls his eyes puts his arm around Kitty and they turn to leave. "I can go anywhere in the house! Look, I'm talking on the stairs. Now, I'm talking by the bar. This is amazing! Hey Donna, I could take this phone to my bedroom, and we could talk all night long, if you know what I mean."

"We're still here, Eric," Red and Kitty say from the kitchen door.

"He means astronomy Mrs. Forman," Donna shouts.

"Uh huh, I know what stars you're blasting off to," Red says as he and Kitty go through to the kitchen.

"Donna, this is so great. We can talk anywhere, it is so cool," Eric says.

"I'm glad you're happy. I have to go to class, I'll talk to you later," Donna says.

"Bye, Donna."

"Bye."

"Oh wait, Donna, I'm saying bye from the porch!"

--------------

Fez knocks loudly on the bathroom door. "Jackie, hurry up, we're going to be late! Our flight leaves in an hour." He is so excited for their trip to Los Angeles. They'll be on location with Christine St. George all week. He envisions long walks on the beach, fancy Hollywood parties, and lots of doing it with Jackie.

The tell-tale sounds of vomit come from the other side of the door.

"Come on, Jackie, the cab won't be that bad," Fez says.

Jackie opens the door, still in her pajamas. She is pale and there are dark circles under her eyes. She clutches her stomach. "I think I have the stomach flu. I don't think I can go," Jackie says.

"Ay no, Jackie! I'm sure it's just something you ate. Did you eat my candy from back home?"

Jackie doubles over and gags, but luckily holds it in.
