Chapter 6

The Female Na'vi took her to a separate alcove from Jake.

Karina looked around and found different herbs and leaves stored in separate bowls.

There was also a deep bowl filled with fresh water and a cloth at the side to clean herself up.

"You must get changed". She motioned Karina to enter while holding a simple woven top and loin cloth. Showing her how it must be worn before handing it to her.

Karina accepted the pieces of clothing but she gave her a questioning look. "Thank you—".

"Neytiri". The female Na'vi spoke gracefully as she headed outside to give her some privacy.

After freshening up and getting changed she neatly folded her clothes to the side and adjusted her top a bit making sure not to reveal more than she already is comfortable showing.

She touched her hair and noticed some strands already came loose. This didn't surprise her considering what she went through today.

Loosening up the ties, she redid her hair to a half-up Dutch crown braid hairstyle. Karina didn't know much about how Na'vi styled their hair but she's never seen one female who just left their hair down.

She knew she had to do her best to fit in somehow.

"Ow-oww-OW".

Karina followed the whimpering cries she heard from the next alcove.

Jake was sitting on the ground while Neytiri was reprimanding him as she treated his right arm.

"Keep still". Neytiri's eyes were sharp as she wrapped an elongated leaf around his wound.

Seeing Jake sulk made Karina laugh as she entered. "Jake, Don't be a wuss".

"Damn. You look like you're about to call your dragons, Khaleesi". Jake teased her as he took her new look in.

Karina just rolled her eyes and helped Neytiri clean up.

"We are already late for last meal. Follow me". She led her new students towards the communal area a few stories above Kelutral.

Neytiri's movements were nimble as she climbed up with ease.

Karina was able to keep up with minimal effort, unlike her fellow avatar who was heaving.

She turned around and extended her arm out to help Jake up. He smiled at her as he took her hand and boosted himself up.

Chattering and singing could be heard as she saw a big crowd gathered around a fire pit, Karina slowed her pace and hid behind Jake.

As soon as they were in view, the Na'vi turned their heads and eyed them silently.

Jake tried to break the ice by flashing them a big smile while greeting them awkwardly. "Good Evening. Please—don't get up".

Feeling embarrassed, Karina tried to hide her face with her hand as she sighed heavily. Giving small smiles and apologies to the people whose tails were stepped on as he passed.

Neytiri found a space for them to sit as she forcefully pushed Jake to crouch down while she gave Karina a gentle tug on the arm.

Thankfully the singing continued again and most of them resumed their conversations.

Karina greeted the family beside her and smiled. "Good Evening".

The couple was too stunned to speak and decided to continue with their meal while their daughter looked up at Karina in awe.
