The storm raged on, causing havoc on those unlucky to be stuck in it. Hail pelted the ground as lightning streaked across the sky. Dean was speeding down the road, uncaring that his precious Impala was being beaten on by hail. All that was important was that they find Alana. She was not safe on her own and definitely not in vampire country.
"Where could she be?" Dean muttered as he gripped the steering wheel tightly. "How could she be so reckless?"
Sam looks up from his research, "She needs answers Dean. Her memories were taken from her, what did you expect she'd do?"Dean growled, "Not this. I expected more from her."
Jack snorted and crossed his arms, "She's not a kid anymore, so stop treating her as one."
"You don't know what you're talking about!" Dean snaps.
"Actually I do," Jack states, "You treat me just the same."
Dean glared out the window, scrunching up his face in anger all the while keeping his eyes on the road. The last thing he needed was to lose his temper as they traveled further into the strengthening storm. Dean was having trouble keeping to the road.
Soon the sky turned red and Dean slammed on the brakes, screeching to a halt. "What the hell?"
"What is that?" Jack asked.
Sam and Dean looked out the windshield in disbelief as the dark; night sky turned a fiery red color.
"Looking for someone?" a voice asks and everyone in the car jumps.
"Castiel?" Jack says.
"If you're looking for Alana, she'll be out momentarily."
"What's going on?" Dean asks.
Castiel looked at them blankly, "Alana is the Phoenix."
"What?" Jack, Dean and Sam say.
Castiel sighs, "Remember when Alana came back and was different? Do you know what happened to her?"
"Ruby took her over." Sam says.
Castiel shook his head. "She had a dagger thrown into her heart by the Demon. Her amulet changed her somehow, but it also let Ruby in and it killed her."
"Damn." Is all Jack says.
"She has risen as a Phoenix. We need to protect her at all costs."
"Why?" Sam asks.
"her blood is the cure to rid the world of the supernatural."
Jack looks stunned, "What does that mean for me?"
"You become human."
It was surreal. There was a cure to make the world normal again?
But before this thought could register in their minds, a knock is heard on the door from the outside breaking them all from their thoughts.
"Hiya brothers, Jack and Castiel." Alana says. Her hair is now a fiery red color.
Sam just looks at her for a moment before passing out and Dean grabs his arms and shouts, "Sam!"
Alana sighs, "He's fine. He'll be awake soon."
As she says this the storm ends suddenly and the sun begins to rise. It's a new day – a whole new disaster. A beautiful disaster.
