The farewell party

This week the choir practices were done but they didn't have the essence that it required the absence of the members was being felt fortunately or unfortunately, the music master looked around and asked where Ariel was to which Kezia replied "Sir she is participating in the elocution contest don't worry she will come tomorrow" the professor rolled his eyes and he was about to yell but then he heard principal's voice so he acted cool and said "I know that the old members aren't here but now please buckle up and start singing like seriously you all have the hymn book so just look at the lyrics and sing and don't look at each other listen to the music and sing, whenever you sing remember that we are giving a farewell but that never meant that we present anything shabby, make it a memorable one that they could cherish and not something they never want to remember it no more. Cut to the next day Ariel came and the music master said "Where were you yesterday?" She replied "Sir I had to participate in the state elocution contest and I reached home at 3:00 pm or else I would have come for the practice but don't worry Kezia sent me all the songs sorry hymns we are supposed to sing for the farewell" he looked at her and said" I suppose you practiced on the violin" Ariel nodded as yes. He said " Ariel I want you to play the entrance song on the keyboard please say yes," Ariel said "but sir I am not so good at it. It's been 2 months since I have not touched the piano please forgive me I can't" At this point the master got mad at her. He said, " I don't want any excuses, I have asked you to play as I know you are capable you got the caliber to do it, or else I would have asked some other student to do that, don't keep your talent to yourself share it at least for your beloved seniors ." Ariel had no choice and said she would play the entrance hymn on the keyboard in the church."

That day they practiced till 3:00 pm until Tiffany's mom came and talked to the music master and then they were sent home. Kezia while she was going along with her mom got mad at her mom as she was the reason the practice had stopped and her mom also didn't give in her tantrum, her mom behaved like that as the previous day she was not there during the practice time and was elsewhere and the professors called her and told her about it, the professors of the college were totally against dating and would keep a check on every student and would call the parents but luckily they were not able to find out who she was with, her parents were extremely strict and when they got the news her mom came to fetch her otherwise she would travel by a minibus. When Ariel reached home she received a message from the group which was sent by the music master "Tomorrow carry your lunch with you and avoid cold drinks and ice-creams & no bunking ."

BACKSTORY: The higher secondary was totally against dating as in the initial years of the college some incidents had led to the defamation of the name of the institute hence they were extremely strict about it and they didn't want it to continue by any means so before any seed of a love story would bloom they would not let it grow until it became a sapling and uproot it, according to the rules the parents of both the parties were called and the lovers were gifted a leaving certificate and a transfer certificate, hence the students dreaded to tell anyone about their love interests, there were times when both the parties denied and the love story ended but some love birds never gave up.

The final rehearsals started Ariel played the entrance hymn and the members also sang well, but as the last hymn was being rehearsed one person made a mistake and that person was caught and the music master made her sing the song alone 10 times literally 10 times as he wanted perfection by any means. Ariel's fingers started to pain so she said "Sorry sir can we please take a break?" luckily he agreed and Ariel started to look at her fingers and they had turned red, Kezia went and filled a bottle of chilled water from the water cooler and gave the bottle to Ariel and she was about to drink it and K told her not to and told her it was for her fingers, Ariel smiled and said " that's so thoughtful of you thank you so much " Kezia replied, " that was the least I could do for you."

The music master continued the practice and asked Ariel to go home she was heading home and on the way she met her neighbor he told her that her parents were not at home and listening to that she checked her bag and the key wasn't there unfortunately, therefore, she decided to go to her grandma's place when she goes there she remembers that it was her aunt's birthday and she wishes her with a smile and hugs after the birthday they go to purchase a black skirt as her skirt was worn out. Ariel's mom got mad at her and asked her "Why on earth do you wait for the last moment?" Ariel asks for an apology but it was all in vain she would be grounded for 2 days without any gadgets.

The farewell

The church bell rang at 9:00 am and Ariel was on the keyboard and played the entrance song effortlessly it seemed so easy that many thought they would be able to do it but were highly mistaken, the priest said that he will try to keep the sermon short and told us about his journey in the higher secondary as the manager and wished the students good luck for their exams, the mass ended at 10:30 am some students got lectured by one of the professors for wearing a sleeveless dress at the church after mass.

At 10:45 am the students gathered at the campus hall and they were welcomed by the juniors with a token of love from the higher secondary, then the professors, principal, and students gave speeches and it took at least 45 minutes some even started dozing and some were asleep until the dance by the juniors began, after the dance some games were organized such as tug of war among the girls and boys, bombarding the city and finally a time came were the most awaited thing was being announced and that was the prince and princess contest there were 3 rounds.

THE PRINCE & PRINCESS CONTEST:

The contest began with the introduction, every student that belonged to the 12 grade was supposed to participate and the majority had a tough time doing that those who survived went to the next round in this round questions were asked about social problems and those who could answer reached the next round and in this round, they were asked to tell about their experience at the campus , one guy came forward like a jerk and told all his bad experiences  the others. The judges didn't want to hear any more bull sh*t so they started asking random questions to each of  the last 5 contestants and disqualified that guy and finally the winners were David and Julia.
