Before I get into this part of the story, let me just say, even now, I'm waiting for the day I find out that David and Lizzy are somehow over 70 or something but somehow look like teens. Maybe they take a lot of carrots...?
Jamie and Lizzy had rebuilt the wall in my room while David and I were training. Jamie was sprawled out on one of the beds, knocked out. David shook her awake and she turned so red when she saw him I thought her blood was trying to escape her face.
"Get up. We're going to the palace." he informed her. He called Lizzy, Dylan and Ashley and told them to come outside.
When everyone was outside, David didn't bother briefing anyone. He just took off in the direction of the palace. As we got closer, I noticed that buildings were floating. Like floating or levitating in the air without apparent cause. The palace was the only place left untouched. What I saw was disgusting. There were headless bodies hanging from the building. Their clothes had been removed to reveal that they had been eviscerated and - some of them - emasculated. There were two huge black dogs eating other bodies. David landed right in front of them. The dogs snarled and I was about to yell, get out of there. David simply stared at the animals. They whimpered and tried to kneel before him. He then turned to us.
"Well," he said, smiling. "After you."
We had to hide from demonic guards the entire time until David got annoyed. "Jeg er lei av denne." he said. Which basically meant he was tired of us sneaking around. David closed his eyes and the nearest guard grabbed his head and opened his mouth in mid-scream. Then the guard's facial expression went completely blank and David opened his eyes. His pupils and irises were gone, with only had the white of his eyes showing, which was slowly turning black. The guard began running towards the exit screaming something in another language. The other guards ran after him and David's eyes returned to normal.
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Mind control." David answered, then acted like it didn't matter. I wanted to inquire further, but something told me his response would be, Let's not comment on it, reference it, or ever use it again. "Come on, my old friend is here."
Lizzy came up to him. "Who?" she asked, her Big Sister voice turning on.
"Amanda."
I didn't know what this Amanda was but David seemed to be extremely thrilled to see her. When we finally got to the main throne room, I was a little impressed. The chair in the room seemed to be made of gold and so did the rest of the room. But my impression was short-lived, as I heard muffled screams. We looked up and saw a white, brunette girl hanging upside down. She was alive, but she was gagged and restrained by an unknown force. Laughter echoed in the room and a man materialized in the chair. He was wearing what looked like Roman armor and sky blue pants.
"Well, well." he clapped his hands together slowly. "It seems the puny mortals have come at last." I could feel the air getting hotter and I saw that David was steaming — literally.
"Ouranos," he snarled in Greek, before actually beginning to speak the language. "Θα πεθάνεις όπου εσείς στέκεστε!" I feel like I should tell you what David was saying. Only one problem: I hadn't the slightest clue what he said.
Ouranos chuckled, obviously amused by whatever David said. He gave David the "come on" gesture. However, Ashley and Dylan came at Ouranos instead. He sighed, grabbed both of them by the throat and threw them straight into a wall. They twitched and then stopped moving. David looked at the two holes made by his two friends and I flinched. Every animal instinct I had told me to run for the hills.
I felt a new malign presence coming from David. Then David's aura became so intense that it was visible and began circling around the room, making the wind pick up. David bowed his head, gritting his teeth so much I thought he would break them. His mouth seemed to be getting a bit longer, he squinted his eyes more and more, his hair began wiping around as the air swirled around him. He looked up and I saw his eyes - his evil eyes - filled with inconceivable bloodlust. His sclerae had turned completely black and his irises had turned a glowing blood-red color and his pupils had become slitted like a snake's. His already elongated canine teeth had gotten longer and looked like they could rip through flesh and bone, his hair had become unnaturally spiky, and his nails were growing so long that they were basically claws. David let out a loud feral roar, causing the winds to pick up so much that they were on the gale scale, then he got on all fours, disappeared, and the next thing I knew the wall exploded. I brought my arms to my face to keep shards from the wall from impaling it. Lizzy, Jamie and me ran to the big hole in the wall. David was flying upward at Ouranos.
