All of a sudden I was back in the arena. My body felt like it was made of lead, I couldn't breath properly, and I could barely stand.
"What's wrong with Raelin?" Justin asked. "She appears to be out of breath."
"What in the name of Thor was that?" I asked David, struggling to move my head so I could look at him. I was struck with so much fatigue, it felt a thousand times heavier.
He looked at me with concern. He now had his Amsvartnir deactivated and his brown eyes were showing. "It is called the 'Himinbrjot.'" David explained. "I can control whatever happens there."
I got on one knee, swung my fist, attempting to blast him with lightning. David didn't even flinch and I just collapsed. David picked me up and dropped me onto the grass.
"R-ring out." Justin said. "David advances to the final round."
David got on the grass, put one arm under my neck and the other under my legs, and brought me to where Lizzy was in the audience and she began healing my wounds.
"Here we are." Justin said, yelling into his microphone. "David vs Abby. Contestants, please come forward."
David jumped from the audience stands and Abby walked to the ring. They both bowed and got into Kung Fu stances.
"This is the final round of the whole tournament." Justin said. "Fight!"
David mouthed something and Abby nodded. Suddenly a lightning spear emitted from Abby's hand and would've impaled itself into David's left shoulder if he hadn't made it vanish using wind.
"What the?" someone in the crowd asked.
David charged Abby before suddenly vanishing into a wisp of rainbow fire.
"Hey!" David's voice shouted. "Up here."
Everyone looked up and there was David high in the sky, ejecting flames from his feet.
"Whoa." Justin exclaimed, though, for some reason, he didn't follow up with anything.
A blue light emerged at David's fingertip and he pointed the light at Abby, then an extremely fast beam of rainbow fire raced towards Abby, who laughed.
"You're gonna have to do better than that." she yelled and slapped the beam. But, instead of the badass moment I'm sure was going on in her head, the beam burned her and she winced.
"What just happened?" someone asked.
David charged Abby again, but this time she managed to counter him with a punch to the face and he fell to the ring, twitching.
"A-absolutely incredible." Justin commented. "Has Abby beaten the champion?"
Justin began counting, but David got to his feet and the crowd cheered.
"Why is he fooling around?" Lizzy demanded, taking a break from healing me. Her next words ended up being in Norwegian, as they normally were when she was overcome with great emotion. "kommer på!"
David's stretched his back and cracked his neck as Abby watched him intently.
"Don't you think that was enough of a warm-up?" Abby asked.
He cracked his knuckles. "Yes." he agreed.
"Eek!" Justin shouted. "That was just a warm-up?"
"Come at me any way you like." David said, getting into his Praying Mantis form.
Abby laughed and her hand began crackling with energy. The sky darkened and rumbled.
"What is this?" Justin asked, shaking his head around as he studied the forming thunderstorm. "What's going on?"
Comprehension spread across Lizzy's face and mine. "No way. She can't..." Lizzy started.
"Be using David's own move against him." I finished.
Abby brought her hand up and a lightning beast appeared. Abby smiled as David looked up at what could potentially be his defeat.
"Remember this, De-De?" She asked and brought her hand down.
The beast came right down on David's head and smoke filled the entire arena. When the smoke cleared, David was lying on the ground face first. Justin began counting and Abby began going to the tournament house, when an amused chuckle was heard and David rose to his feet. David looked at Abby, smiling, then got a serious look, making Abby stepped back in surprise.
"No one," David said, walking towards a frightened Abby. "beats me with my own technique! Especially when it is nothing but a cheap knock-off!"
He charged and the next thing I saw was Abby on the grass.
"R-ring out?" Justin announced, confused. "Um, what exactly happened?"
After they gave David and Abby their prize money, we started to leave the tournament site. We were joking around, but suddenly Lizzy and David got stern looks on their faces.
"What is it?" Abby and I asked, being the only ones who didn't know was going on.
David apported the prize money to the house and pyroported us all inside the Japanese palace main hall where Ashley, Dylan and Jamie were waiting.
"Y-you felt it too?" Jamie asked, blushing slightly, which still confused me. She looked like she had just gotten out of bed. Her hair was a huge mess and her hazel eyes were a little bloodshot. She wore a small green T-shirt and jean shorts.
Dylan and Ashley looked a little better. Dylan wore a tank top and some pants. His hair was neatly cut and his moustache looked recently trimmed. Ashley's hair was tied into a ponytail and she wore a pure blue dress.
David nodded at Jamie. "Where is Amanda?"
Dylan pointed at the floor. "In her underground bunker."
I looked at David and almost didn't recognise my own friend. He normally looked very calm, poised, apathetic, and under control. But now foreign emotions were spread across his face: Fear, worry, sadness, and anger. But the strange thing was that his eyes kept moving between all of us as if his expressions were because of us, especially his worry, fear and sadness.
"We do not have much time be-" David started to say when the wall of the palace exploded. When the smoke cleared and when everyone stopped coughing, I heard collective gasps. I looked up and I was shocked by what I saw. The one standing before us, who had caused the explosion, was a very malicious looking Ali.
Ok, maybe this chapter wasn't much better. But bear with me. This is the first story I've written. And better chapters are to come.
