The giant, tall red slide was for the big kids. The small blue one next to it was reserved for toddlers and preschoolers. Since I was 4, I wouldn't be able to ride it yet. Only if an adult was right next to you, sitting under or next to you, would you be allowed to go down the red slide at 4. The rules were very clear. Only under adult supervision.

My friend and I were running about. I can't exactly remember his name, but a friend is a friend, right?

Excitement sped through our veins as we continuously ran up the jungle gym and down the blue slide. Giggling and laughing excitedly as we tried tricks, going down backwards, on our stomachs and the like. He clapped happily as I slid down, only my side touching the slide. When I got to the bottom, I posed. My elbow on the hot plastic and my lips puckered into a kiss, just like I'd seen in those western movies my parents occasionally watched.

Then we had an idea.

After quickly glancing at our parents, we made executive decision that they wouldn't notice. Plus, they wouldn't care too much. Both moms were engrossed in a conversation likely about either cooking or their working husbands. Both were common topics.

Then we ran up the jungle gym and up the few steps that separated our blue slide and the red slide.

What made the slides so different was length. The toddler slide was a few steps below the big kid slide. This made it shorter both in height and in the amount of time on the playground ride. However, what made also the older kid one longer in ride-time was all the twists and turns, not to mention it was in the dark. The red slide's top half was covered as well so you were riding in pitch-black. It's so cool. The blue slide's top was open, so that light could get through. It also went straight, so that meant no fun turns. It was really meant for parents who wanted to hold their child's hand as they slid down.

Together, we sat down on the red, plastic entrance. Giggling sneakily, we peeked over entrance, making sure our moms were still busy, before sitting and beginning our descent down.

It was exhilarating, well, for two 4-year-olds. Sliding down a fun slide and breaking the rules? Heck yeah! We're on our rebellious streak!

Our parents didn't feel the same.

After the first two turns in the dark, my friend tensed beside me. The slide felt a lot longer on the inside than the outside. But a few seconds more and we were at the bottom. Squealing and wanting to go again, I was about to get off. Then I noticed the legs in front of me. Waiting for us were two vibrating-angry moms.

"Yah! Kim Seungmin! Park Kyungmin! What do you think you're doing?! You know the rules!" Ah, that's his name. My friend and I look down, I mumble an apology before excitedly exclaiming, "But it looked so fun!" I smiled widely, showing the whites of my teeth. Their gazes softened at that. They were wrapped around my tiny finger. And they knew I knew.

"Seungmin-ah, you could be seriously hurt if you decide everything, regardless of age, is safe for you. There are age limits for a reason."

"Yes, Eomma! I'm sorry."
