Chan went down with Woojin to ask the receptionist about open rooms while the rest of us would stay up here. We patiently waited, talking amongst ourselves nervously.
They come back with bright smiles on their faces. "Luckily, today isn't too busy so we were given access to eight other rooms." Woojin says, dangling a bunch of keys and keycards.
They dole out a key or card to each of their members and I happily join Felix where he is. We got a keycard and on ours is a floor and room number, like everyone else, I assume. We're dismissed and we head up a floor to the meeting rooms. We walk up with the Seungmins and Hyunjins. It seems that our room is first so we bid the four guys goodbye before entering.
The room a nice space. It's definitely made for meetings with the projector screen whiteboard and table accompanied by chains of chairs, but it's one of the smaller ones. We grab a seat next to each other in the corner far from the door.
It's nerve-wracking. I feel like I shouldn't be the nervous one, but I can't help it. I'm supposed to tell him the future, more so the issues, and hope that he won't make the same dumb mistakes. Hope that he still wants the future.
"Umm.." He looks at me expectantly."Let's talk in English, yeah?" I eventually get out. This has got me all twisted and I honestly can't wait for this to be over. My knee starts bouncing up and I start fiddling with my hands. I take a deep breath.
"Sure." He says in English, shrugging. Surprisingly, Felix doesn't look anywhere as anxious as I feel. Though nervous, he seems rather excited to learn about how great we become. Spolier alert: it really isn't that great.
"Why don't we talk about my, well our, injury. I'm sure you didn't understand what exactly happened." He nods, confirming my very well-backed suspicions. "So why don't you tell me what you understood and I can fill in the gaps."
He nods, looking a little more insecure. "Okay... well I know it impacted your dancing. It was an injury. Umm... I assume it's a back injury, 'cause of your patch and all?"
"Correct! It's a spinal injury. Basically the nucleus of one of my discs got into a place it shouldn't be and I had to stop strenuous activities for my back to heal." I feel less nervous, thankfully. In fact, I might've been wrong. With how untensed and relaxed Lix looks, maybe he was pretty nervous.
"But it all heals up, right?" He asks worriedly.
I nod in confirmation. "Yeah, with a few months of rest it would've been good as new. However, as a human, that would have been both difficult and it wouldn't've been healthy. But as an idol, it's impossible. I still dance so it took longer to heal, unfortunately." It's true, while I was told by the company that I still should dance a bit, I did my fair share of dancing that wasn't recommended by even them. It's hard to not do your passion, especially when you're told not to.
"That's good." We sit in awkward silence for a couple seconds. I don't know what else to say. A good amount of it is negative anyways. Eventually he asks, "What- what's next?"
"Umm... let's talk about our mental health?" I guess. For being the person who's supposed to be leading this conversation, I'm doing a lot of guessing.
"Sure..."
"Uhh... well our depression is flourishing!" I stutter out. Internally, I facepalm. What am I saying?
"The medicine doesn't help anymore?" He asks, seeming confused and more worried.
"Well yes, but sometimes I still have bouts of it." I reassure. "It's a little hard to be known as a sunshine sometimes but I deal."
