Chapter 8

Sage's POV

God I hate this stupid boss of mine, this will be the second time in two days he has insulted and indirectly called me a slut.

I'm really trying to keep it together but he's not helping, and what does he mean flirting with clients, I was only being nice.

I groan out and walk out if the conference room, it's almost lunch and I really need to see Aisha before I lose my mind

I walk to my office instead of dropping by his to give him the minutes, I really don't want to see him right now, who knows what he might ask me to do and I don't want to miss today's session.

I pick a few things and head out, the earlier I leave the better, after all it's just 5 more minutes till lunch break.

I hail a taxi and tell him where to drop me, the place isn't really far from work so we get there very quickly.

I pay the driver and walk inside and go straight to her office. I don't knock because she's expecting me and I know she's inside.

I just enter and go straight to the couch and plop myself on it with a heavy sigh.

"Hello to you too" she mutters sarcastically, I just shake my head at her.

"What's wrong"? She asks giving me her full attention

"I hate him" I say running my hand through my hair

"Whoa calm down, he's not even here, although I get why you hate him" she says thinking I'm talking about him

"I'm not talking about Dante" I snap

"Okayyy, who are you talking about"? She asks furrowing her brows "don't tell me you have a boyfriend that I don't know about"?

I roll my eyes at her "My boss"

"Wait you're dating your boss"? She asks scrunching up her nose

I groan in frustration "No I'm not dating my boss and no I don't have a boyfriend, I mean I hate my boss, he's so overbearing and annoying"

She looks at me for a while before bursting into a fit of laughter, I just glare at her.

"Sorry, I'm sorry" she tries to catch her breath "why do you hate your boss"? She asks me

"He's so annoying, rude, arrogant and a Killjoy" I tell her "he hasn't even been here for long and I already want to quit"

"What did he do"? She asks.

"You remember I couldn't make it last week and I called to reschedule, well the asshat made me work overtime" I explain "and you know the worse of it all is that he finds every opportunity he gets to insult and talk down on me"

"Okay that is serious" she says now seriously "did you know him before, maybe from you know who"? She asks

I raise my brows at her "really? You think if I had met him while I was with Dante I wouldn't know? I don't think I know him before and I'm sure he doesn't know me either" I explain.

"Okay but I'll advice you stay away from him, try to get your work done and stay off his path, you know what happens when you get overwhelmed with emotions" she says referring to my panic attacks.

I just nod at her relaxing back on the couch, he's really pushing my buttons and it's taking a lot from me not to break down.

I stay with Aisha for a few more minutes before my phone starts ringing bringing me out of my daze, I take it out and see my boss's name flash on the screen.
