(Start in the desert. SHUMI is sitting on the ground with three Steelheads. There's a cut-up zapfish in the middle of them.)
Shumi-But what they didn't know is that Mr. Grizz wanted the eggs so he could fuel the rocket that he wanted to drop the Fuzzy Ooze with. He just tempted the Inklings—er, the other Inklings—and some Octarians too—I mean, he tempted them to his side with money and exclusive gear.
Steelhead 1-They hunted down our troops, they took our children, just for pocket change?!
Shumi-But...yeah, the pay was pocket change, but they're not all about hunting Salmonids for sport—
Steelhead 1-For sport?
Shumi-Okay, wrong word. What I'm trying to say is that the people in Splatsville are really nice. Like, I stayed with this one guy named Hiro and his dad—well, he's actually my dad, too—
Steelhead 2-Your father?
Shumi-Yeah. It's real funny that my birth father was the one who wound up taking me in.
Steelhead 2-How do you know he's your father?
Shumi-It's a bit of a long story.
Steelhead 3-Do you want to be a traitor to your clan?
Shumi-It's not that. I just got curious. Don't you ever get curious?
Steelhead 3-You're curious, aren't you? Take another bite of zapfish.
(SHUMI sighs.)
Shumi-Yes, Ziwu.
(She takes a bite of the zapfish.)
Steelhead 1-It's clear that these Inklings are not to be trusted. They've hunted our people for sport, and they've completely disrespected Salmonid customs.
Shumi-It really was my idea to—
Steelhead 2-But they still corrupted your way of thinking.
Shumi-It's called being open to new cultures, Yiling.
Steelhead 2-We need to show them what they've done to us. Zhuhai, what is the closest landmark in Splatsville to here?
Shumi-I'm with engineering, not navigation.
Steelhead 3-Fine. Then we ask the navigation corps, but first we must put it to a vote.
Steelheads 1/2-Agreed.
Shumi-Good. I know that the clan would never agree to this.
(The screen freezes.)
Shumi-(voice-only) The clan agreed to it.
(Fade to black. The title appears on the screen. Fade to Splatsville Square in the evening. SPIDER, INKURA, BRIDGETT, and HIRO enter from SquidForce Tower.)
Hiro-I think that people are still getting used to the Snipewriter. I definitely see a world where, like, the really good Charger players get a hand on this thing, and then it is just a war on Inkster of "We hate Snipewriter players."
(BRIDGETT looks at the Grizzco building, which is empty and has lost all its Grizzco signage.)
Hiro-Bridgett, are you good?
Bridgett-(voice-only) It's been two months since Grizzco's shut down. No one's stepped forward to buy the building. Maybe nobody else in town thinks they're marketable enough to kids that they'd take the address next to SquidForce. Maybe they don't want to occupy the building used by a mass murderer. Whatever the reason, it was weird seeing that building so empty.
Inkura-Wait, guys, hold on.
(She gets her phone out.)
Inkura-It's time for the next Splatcast.
