Lorelai, Rory, and Rowan walked into Luke's diner to eat some breakfast. Rory and Lorelai had been talking about some random subject involving Luke, while Rowan had her head in some irrelevant comic.

"Its so weird to see him talking like that" Lorelai said referring to Luke.

"Like what?" Rory asked

"Just all friendly. He's usually only good for a quick couple of gruff monosyllables, and then he's off." Lorelai answered, exaggerating the only.

"He is the master of the monosyllable" Rory replied.

"And because he's nervous around you." Rowan added while rummaging through her messy bookbag to look for more comics.

"Luke's only nervous when he doesn't have a hat on" Lorelai countered. "He never flirts with any of the women, do you notice that?"

"He flirts with you" Rowan said, rolling her eyes at her mom's obliviousness.

"Don't start" Lorelai said

"Hey, flirt with him now, we need coffee." Rory added as Luke approached them.

"Oh Luke, we're just dying for some refreshments" Lorelai said in a flirtatious manner while batting her eyelashes.

"Keep your pants on." Luke boringly replied.

"Hmm. He can turn it off and turn it on so fast." Lorelai said while smirking.

"Andddd I'm leaving..." Rowan replied while shoving her comics back into her bag.

"Since when do you ever willingly go to school without me forcing you?" Lorelai replied.

"If I'm late again, they might kick me off the team" Rowan said while tying her shoelaces.

"Shoulda known the ulterior motive was something basketball related." Lorelai grumbled.

"Really? I was expecting it to be Carmen this time." Rory said teasing her twin sister.

"You're right" Lorelai said joining in on the teasing. "You have been extremely whipped this time around."

"Jesus Christ shutup." Rowan said fed up with the teasings.

Rory and Lorelai shrugged and looked around the room acting innocent and oblivious to the teasing they did.

"I'll be home at 5:30 by the way" Said Rowan trying to slickly slip in that comment before leaving for school.

"Ah ah ah come back here ma'am" Lorelai said while yanking Rowan back by the bookbag straps before she could leave. "Why are you coming home so late?"

"Basketball practice."

"Basketball practice ends at 4:30?" Lorelai said while studying Rowans face.

"Yea but I have to change and shower in the locker rooms after school you know." Rowan said while balancing on her heels. "I'm also hanging out with friends for a bit after."

"Mhm" Lorelai said while smirking. "Will-

"Yes, carmen will be there and yes I'll be back in time for dinner with grandma" Rowan replied already knowing what her mom was going to ask her.

"Alright then" Lorelai said while putting her hands up innocently.

Rowan skidded out of Luke's and made her way down the street to Carmen's house to pick up her so they could walk to school together.

They walked in complete silence which was a bit weird. Rowan tried to make conversation but it seemed like carmen wasn't in the mood so she let it go. That didn't stop Rowan from sneaking glances at Carmen or trying to hold her hand.
