Divergent

Chapter 5

Eric went in with Tori and walked out about an hour later he tried not to show it but I could see it in his eyes he's scared to death. Well the faster I do this the faster I'm done.

Tori: anyone want to volunteer ?

Me(get up): I do

Tori(walk back into the room): follow me then

I follow her and as I walk in I see there's a chair like the one I got a tattoo on or even the one for the aptitude test. There's a computer with a chair and some electrodes connected to the computer one for me and one for Tori so she can see what I do. Like last time. Yeah she was the person who made me pass my aptitude test she's also the only one who knows my biggest secret I mean she is the one who told me. I am a divergent. Which means I don't fit in any particular factions I fit in all of them.

Me: you never told me why you didn't report me ?

Tori(sigh): my brother was like you and he was killed for it. I wouldn't want anyone else to die because their different

Me(smile sadly at her): I'm sorry for your brother Tori I can't imagine how I'd feel if it was my twin

Tori: yeah I'll help you to learn how to control your emotions as for the next stage you'll need to learn not to finish the simulation too fast but not too slow either do you know all of your fears ? I know only two your fear of public speaking and your fear of depths

Me(nod): those are only two of them I also fear spiders, open spaces, thunder and... my father

Tori(nod): alright well let's get started.

She put one electrode on my left temple and put the other on hers. She inject me the serum I close my eyes going head first into my personal hell. As I go through each of my fears at first I forget it's not real but after a moment I remember that it's not real.

Me(as I start my last fear): dad... you asked for me ?

Dad: Thea Thea Thea bad daughter (take the belt from the table and start yelling) get here girl !

I walk up to him looking down at the floor a tear escaping my eyes he start to whip me with the belt and when I fall down he start to kick me that's when I remember. It's not real. Wake up. Wake up Thea. Wake up ! I sit up panting and look at Tori. She takes off our electrodes and I close my eyes a second when I open them again she's handing me a glass of water. I happily drink it and when I'm done I give it back to her.

Me: so how did I do ?

Tori: how long do you think you've been in there ?

Me(confused): like two hours ?

Tori(shake her head): you've only been in for thirty minutes

Me(surprised): that's it ?!

She nods and I sigh wondering how I could take longer.

Tori: we'll work on making you last at least fourthy-five minutes so it doesn't look like you do it too fast

I nod and she let me out before opening the door i take a deep breath and then turn the handle leaving this place. I give Four ad Ember a small smile before heading back to the training room. I walk in and go directly to the knives throwing station. I take a couple of knives and start to throw. I throw them all and go to the target taking them out of it before walking back and starting again. I keep going for a while until I decide to stop getting hungry. I put the knives back in their place and as I turn to start to walk out of the training room I see Eric standing against a column looking at me. I walk up to him a small smirk on my face.

Me(as I get to him): you know it's rude to stare

Eric(smirk): I wasn't

Me(chuckles): then what were you doing ?

Eric: Admiring

Me(shake my head smiling): Really now ?

He chuckles and start to walk out of the training room not answering my question. I follow him and we just started to talk until we got to the cafeteria. I get an apple and some fruits and walk to a table sitting down in front of Eric. We continue to talk and eventually Four and Ember join us. My brother avoid my gaze while when I look into Ember eyes I see that she's mortified. I take her hand to show her that I'm here and that she's gonna be ok. She gives me a small smile and lay down on the bench putting her head on my left thigh to use as a pillow. She puts her hands together over her heart and close her eyes. I see tears leaving her eyes. I start to stroke her hair knowing we're all feeling the same just better at hiding it. I continued to talk with the guys as I stroke Ember hair. After a while, it got to dinner the guys went to get their lunch and went back to get mine and Ember as I was slowly waking her up.

Me: Ember...Em...Hey sleepyhead

Ember(rubbing her eyes): hey...how long was I asleep ?

Me: about three hours

Ember(sit up): ugh...I'm gonna regret it tonight

Me(as the guys put our food in front of us): probably !

She smile and we start to eat. After eating we went to the cave as we decided to call it 'cause well that's basically what it looked liked. We went over to Tori because the guys finally decided themselves with a tattoo they wanted so Ember and i went to support them...ok no more like laugh at them !
