It's been a month since I last saw Lestrange. He hasn't come back after his encounter with Tom. I wonder why-
A knock interrupts me. I roll my eyes and get up from my bed to open the door. The mysterious person who knocked at my door and interrupted my thoughts was Valentine.
"Hey, bestie," he says. I smile at his choice of words, knowing he learned it from me.
"Look at you using my vocabulary," I laugh.
"You know me, I'm always learning," he says, flipping his hair. I laugh at his jester.
"Anyways, why are you here?" I say curiously.
"Well, didn't you hear about the winter ball?" He asks, confused.
"Uh no." I don't really pay attention to those things if I'm being honest, and I almost forgot about the annual winter ball.
"Gurl, you live under a rock. I was thinking we could all go as a group!" His vocabulary makes me smile.
"Oh, that sounds fun," I say, my smile only growing.
He was about to respond to me when Tom appears out of nowhere. Seriously, where did he come from? Valentine and I both exchange shocked looks. I guess he also didn't see him coming.
"Hey Rosier, are you going to the dance?" Tom asks, acting like he did not just spawn. Although, he's a lot nicer now that he's with me. We'll sort of, we haven't exactly made it official. I still smile at the thought, though.
"Yeah! Actually, I was thinking we could all go as a group!" Valentine says happily.
"I was thinking about that too, it's a good idea." Tom says while nodding in agreement. Valentine looks like he could explode with happiness.
"Since I know you guys are going, I'll ask Nott, Avery, and Mulciber!" Valentine says while walking away.
"Speaking of the ball, would you like to go with me?" Tom asks smoothly.
"I thought it was a given that I went with you," I raise my eyebrow and laugh.
"Well, I thought I'd ask you like the gentleman I am." He says smugly.
"I see you're still keeping up with appearances," I say while playfully rolling my eyes.
"Always mon cherie." He says, making my heart flutter.
Time skip ✨️
Valentine thought it was a good idea to go shopping all together. He took us all to Ernie's boutique. Thankfully, this time, I don't have Beverly here.
"I have a splendid idea! Let's all wear the same tuxedos but in different shades of the same color!" Valentine says to the guys.
All of them nod in agreement except Mulciber, who just sits in the corner observing. He always observes but doesn't like to include himself for some reason.
"Oh my Merlin, I love that idea!" Ernie says while limping his wrist.
"Clarie should pick a dress first, and we will get different shades of the color," Dune says. They all agree since it's harder to find a dress rather than a tuxedo.
I'm not a big fan of this part. I go dress through dress. None of them are speaking to me. That is until I find a beautiful dark red dress. It's sort of a blood red.
"You look magnificent!" Ernie says while clapping.
"You know, if you weren't with Tom.." Atticus jokes, but Tom's not having it.
"Avery, you can't say things like that!" Valentine gasps, putting his hand over his mouth.
"I would have said that in another way, but," Tom shrugs as he clenches his fist. I give Tom a look saying it's alright, but his fist doesn't unclench
"Uh no. Not in my boutique!" Ernie says, putting his hands on his hips. Once he feels like a fight won't break out in his shop, he starts getting the different shades of red tuxedos he has. His variety goes from very light red, almost pink, to the darkest shades that look almost brown.
Tom chooses first and gets the blood red tux that matches my dress. Next is Dune, who picks a crimson, Atticus decides on a scarlet, Valentine picks blush, and Mulciber picks a mahogany.
"Well lads, I don't know what you think but I think we will be the best dressed at the ball!" Atticus says, looking at his tux.
"We sure will be! Every year, everyone wears blue to the dance, and we will stick out," Dune adds.
"They all wear blue because they are all basic as fuck" Valentine says, rolling his eyes.
"Everyone except Beverly who wears that ugly obnoxious pink color," Atticus responds. "Sorry Ernie," he quickly adds.
"It's ok, I don't style her. I try but she decides on those monstrosities," Ernie says while shuddering at the thought.
"No wonder why she had that fucking loofah dress at the masquerade." I add.
"Ugh don't remind me" Ernie says looking disgusted.
Suddenly Mulciber gets up and starts walking to the door with his newly bought tux. "I have to go, bye guys"
"Bye I guess," Atticus says as Mulciber leaves.
"What the fuck was that about?" Dune asks.
"I have no clue," Tom responds looking curiously at the door Mulciber just left through. How odd.
"Anyway, Clar and I should get going too" Tom says while grabbing his tux and my dress. I give him a curious look but don't question it. I say goodbye to everyone and leave Ernie's boutique.
"Why are we leaving?" I ask Tom, smiling.
"Because I believe I owe you some new clothes," he says smirking. Him remembering only makes my smile grow wider.
Mulciber's POV ✨️
I leave the boutique and quickly walk back to my dorm. I throw my new tux on my bed and grab ink, a quill, and some parchment. I take it over to my desk and start writing a letter.
Dear Lestrange,
