To Tear them Apart

Mother and Father rushed into the room around ten o'clock that night. Mother runs to Liam's side and held his face in her hands. Tears were streaming down my Mothers face. My father whispered something in Augusts ear and August nodded. He and Liam's friends filed out of the room.
"How did this happen?" Father asks stiffly. Amias retold him the story that August had told us. We told them that we waited to hear what happened until they got here. I walked out of the room and asked August to get the doctor. He nodded and walked off down the hall. I walked back into the room. I went to my father and hugged him. He wrapped his arms around me and sighed. A minute later, the doctor walked in.
"Hello. I'm sure your all worried, so I won't keep you waiting. So, Liam is fine. We think had a prophecy, but we won't know for sure until he wakes up. But all in all, he's fine. He doesn't seem to have a concussion."
"Oh thank God!" My mother says and leans her head on Liam's chest. A second later, he opens his eyes and looks at Mother leaning on him.
"I love you too Mom. But I can't breathe with you crushing me like that." Liam chuckles and Mother looks up at him. She picks up her head and kisses the top of his head multiple times. He laughs and tries to push her away.
"Well. That was good timing. You had us worried, you bozo." Amias says swatting Liams shoulder. Liam gives him a look and tries to push Amias in retaliation. My father laughs and ask Liam how he's feeling.
"Oh I'm fine. I am a little worried though. I've never has a vision like that."
"What happened?" I asked and the doctor leaves the room. He looks at me with a worried look on his face and sighs.
"I'm not sure if I should say with Mother in room. She might kill me."
"Well, now I'm even more worried! What happened? Is your sister in trouble? Are you in trouble?"
"Can you get Aer from the hall. You might also need to call your other two friends to come. This isn't just a you think Phoenix." He told me and I nodded. I walked into the hall and told Aer what Liam told me. I took out my phone and called Maxine. Aer and I explained that we needed her and Khaleesi down in the medical wing immediately.
Maxine hung up the phone and Aer gave me a rib crushing hug. I hug them back. We stand like that for a few minutes before we let go. I grab their hand and lead them back into the room. They sit down in the chair next to Liam, and grabs their hand.
About 20 minutes later, there was a knock on the door. My father opens the door and Maxine and Khaleesi were standing there with worried looks. We wave them in and give them a summary of how Liam wanted to talk. He asked Mother and Father to wait in the hall. He said that only the people in his vision can know exactly what is going to happen. Amias tried to walk out behind them, but Liam stopped him.
"So what happened? I don't understand why we have to be here," Maxine comments.
"Well let me explain then, yeah?" Liam says sarcastically. I laugh a little and poke Maxine's arm. She pokes me back and smiles.
"So, right after I collapsed. It was around midnight, and we were standing at the lake, by the docks. Me, Phoenix, Amias, Maxine, Aer, and Khaleesi. There was another girl with us. I don't know who she was though. The school was broken and on fire in some places. There didn't seem to be any fighting going on. We seemed to be waiting for someone. A few minutes go by before a woman walks up to us. Phoenix tried to walk up to her. I'm guessing to try to talk to her, but before she got close the woman looked at the ground and started to chant. I didn't understand what she was saying, but it definitely wasn't good because a skeleton army made their way out of the ground. They started to chant too. I guess they were to hypnotize because " He paused and took a shaky breath. " when the woman looked up, Phoenix fell gasping. A second later, she got up. She turned around and there was a weird look in her eyes. I don't know what happens next 'cause I woke up."
My mother held his hands in hers. The room was silent for a couple of moments.
"The girl that was with us. What did she look like?" I ask him. Everyone looks at me like I'm crazy.
"That's what your worried about?! Liam just told us this insane thing! And you're worried about what some girl looks like?" Amias almost yells.
"Hey. Calm down. It's okay Amias. The girl was kinda short, and she had longer red hair. That's all I could really gather." Liam says.
"What do we do? Do we go home? Do we stay here? What happens now? Do we need an army?" Amias asks looking at everyone in the room. Maxine grabbed my hand and I could tell she was just as nervous about this as I was. Nobody has seen a vision like this in years. Probably since our grandparents were little.
"I think it's best we get some rest. Let's think about this in the morning," My father says serious. Mother nods in agreement.
"Father. This is serious. We need to talk about this. We need to know how to prepare, how to protect ourselves and the school. This doesn't seem like something we can wait on," I tell him. Everyone looks at me.
"Phoenix. I understand this isn't something we can put off, but right now," he says, "we all need sleep. We'll reconvene in the morning."
"Your father is right honey. You guys go back to your dorms for the night. Go to your classes and don't tell anyone anything, okay?" My mother says. I sigh frustrated.
I walk towards Liam and give him a hug. Amias joins in and we all let go a moment later. My friends, Amias and I leave the room. Maxine holds my hand and swings them back and forth. Amias breaks off when we reach his dorm. I give him a one armed hug and he walks inside.

"Sooo. Just asking. How do your parents expect us to act like we aren't going to be in a lot of danger soon?" Maxine asks. Khaleesi and Aer shoot her a look. "What? Am I wrong? We are all in danger and Phoenix gets hypnotized. And they just want us to act like we weren't just told that information. Also, who was the other girl he was talking about? The girl with the long red hair. Like how do we find her? How can she-"
"Maxine. We all love the enthusiasm you have right now, but please shut up. Her parents are right. We need to sleep. We can and will talk about everything when we have to energy," Khaleesi says and Aer nods. Maxine opens her mouth and looks at me. I nod in agreement. She sighs and slumps her shoulders. We all change into our pajamas and climb into bed. I open my phone and go to the messages app. I click on Floriana and I conversation and type out the text: Hey. i know your probably asleep rn but can we talk tomorrow? or whenever you can?
I hesitate for a second thinking this might be a bad idea. I take a deep breath, hit send, and immediately lock my phone. She's probably asleep. Why did I text her now? She's gonna hate me. God, I'm so stupid. I think panicking. A second later, my phone vibrates in my hand. I look at the screen and Floriana's name is there.
Floriana🌸: Sure. Is everything okay?
Floriana🌸: Let's meet tomorrow at breakfast? 7:00?
I smile and sigh in relief. She doesn't seem mad about the late text.
Phoenix: yeah. i'll explain tomorrow. see ya. goodnight
Floriana🌸: Ok. See you tomorrow. Goodnight ❤️

I put my phone down, and sigh. I really hope I'm right about this.
