It was Friday afternoon, and I was sitting in the grass outside of the firebuilding reading a book for one of my classes. Today was the day that Floriana was meeting with Principal Miller about the woman Liam saw. I was a little nervous about what was going to happen. She was pretty close with Principal Miller, and I don't want her to ruin what kind of friendship they had.

"Hello Your Highness." I look up from my book and see Professor Hayes looking down at me.

"Hello Professor. How are you this afternoon?" I ask him and stand up.

"I'm well, thank you. I just finished grading your last test." He says with a smile.

"How did I do?" I asked him, knowing that I was going to be top of the class.

"Great! Highest grade in the class. Good job!" Professor Hayes exclaims, his smile never faltering.

"Thank you, Professor. Where were you headed?"

"I was just going to find some students in the library to help them with their homework. You're welcome to join us if you'd like."

"I'm alright. Thank you though." I responded.

"I better get going. Have a great weekend, Your Highness."

"You too, Professor."

Professor Hayes walked off with a wave and I sat back down in the grass.

I was sitting in my study hall class and Mr. Teatteri started playing a movie on the smartboard. Almost instantly, I started to do some work for a few of my classes. It was nice to have a study hall because I could just do whatever the hell I wanted to do without a teacher telling me I couldn't.

I walked into the library later in the day. I said hello to the librarians behind the counter and continued to walk in. I walked past the computer lab on the left and the study rooms on the right. The carpet muffled my steps as I looked for an empty table to do my work at. I found a round table near the floor to ceiling windows and sat down. I usually sit in the back on one of the couches, but there was already a group of students sitting there working. I saw Amias and his friends sitting at a table with a divider in the middle. Other than that, the library was quiet today.

I took out my laptop to finish the work I didn't do during study hall. The homework I started doing for my Taking care of Dragons class. We never got much homework in that class, but when we did it was either a shit ton or it was super simple; there was no in between. Last week, we went over how to clean a lizard dragon's scales. There are three types of dragons. There's rock dragons, lizard dragons, and dream furies. Rock dragons are the smallest dragons. They are dragons you'll see helping people in shops and cafes, and it is so freaking cute. They are also super friendly and will let you pet them. Lizard dragons are the ones you ride. They don't let just anyone ride them; they have to trust you first. For a lizard dragon to fully trust you, you make a fist with one hand and put it against the palm of your other hand and bow to it. You don't stand up until they bow back to you. Not much will happen if they don't bow back though. They just won't let you ride them. Dream furies are the rarest dragons. No one really knows what happened to them. I think that they went into space at some point and haven't come back down. We don't know much about them since they never let anyone near them. The ones that got too close to them, never lived to tell the tale of what happened. There was supposedly one person who got close to them and lived. That was Khaleesi's grandfather. He said the one that he met was the friendliest dragon he had ever met.

That was one of the only things that he wrote down in his notes. The other thing was that the skin felt like seal fur. Khaleesi's grandfather also claims that he rode the dragon he met, but I don't think many people believe him. I know Khaleesi believes him. Khaleesi would believe anything his grandfather told him. It could be complete and utter bullshit and Khaleesi would still believe him.

"Hey," I hear someone say and I look up and see Florina standing in front of me with a smile on her face. I smile back at her and wave. "I was just thinking about you. Can I sit down?"

"Yeah! Of course." I say and she sits down next to me opening her bag and grabbing her work. Her bookbag was a pale yellow with some pins on it. She set her stuff down and got to work. After a few minutes of us working next to each other, Floriana spoke up.

"I talked to Principal Miller this morning." She said, and my head popped up from my laptop.

"What happened?"

"She said that she doesn't remember going to school with anyone with the powers you guys wrote down, but she would look into the records and archives to see if she would find anyone. I'm sorry I couldn't find anything more."

"Damn," I sighed, throwing my head back.

Floriana gave me an apologetic look, and placed her hand on mine. I smile a little and look at her.

"I'm sorry I asked you to do our business for us." I tell her and she gives me a small smile.

"I'm sorry I couldn't have been of any more help."

I shrug a little. "It's okay. It's not your fault."

Floriana looks at me for a couple more seconds before going back to her homework. She leaves her hand on mine for a couple more seconds before removing it to pick up her pencil. I blush a little when I still feel the warmth of her hand on mine and I get back to my homework.

There were a few times I strayed away from my homework to watch what Floriana was doing. There was a little scar on her left temple. It was small enough to the point where you wouldn't have noticed if you weren't looking. I went back to focusing on my homework and finished my Dragons homework. Aer and Khaleesi sat down with us an hour later, and they tried to get over the top details from Floriana. She told them the same thing she said to them. Aer didn't exactly believe that's all Principle Miller had to say. Khaleesi smacked the back of their head and told them to stop. They continued to pout while the rest of the table rolled their eyes.

It was nice having two of my best friends studying with me and the girl I like. We started comparing answers to classes we shared until the library closed and we had to leave. I walked Floriana back to her dorm building and made sure she got inside before walking back to my dorm.

A few minutes later, I get back to my own dorm. My friends watch as I set my things down.

"What?" I ask them.

"You like her." Aer comments. I groan at them and roll my eyes.

"Oh my God! Of course I like her. She's my friend. Nothing else."

Aer gives me a look before they surprisingly drop it. I quickly take Bernard out on a walk before getting myself ready for bed. As Bernard and I walk back into the dorm, Khaleesi is filling Maxine in on what Floriana told us. She agrees with Aer when they say, she's hiding more than she is telling us, but Khaleesi and I shoot it down. We talk for a bit longer before we can't hide the fact that we're tired anymore.
