To Tear them Apart

"You know whenever you hangout with her they're going to bother you about it." Maxine says as we walk Bernard.

"Yeah... but it's still annoying though," I reply to her. "I'm thinking about having Liam ask them to stop."

Maxine hums in the way she does when they are thinking. We walk around campus talking and looking at the other students walking around. It's nice walking with Maxine. They're not usually awake enough when I walk Bernard. So, it's a pretty good change of pace. A few minutes later, I see Amias walking straight toward us, and I could tell he's in a panic mood.

"I am freaking out right now." He exclaims and I roll my eyes.

"What did you do now?"

"I didn't do anything. Surprisingly enough, I don't always do something."

"But, whenever you freak out you did something."

"Okay! Fine! Maybe I did do something."

"HA! I knew it," I laugh. "What did you do?"

"I agreed to go on a date with a boy." He admits.

"Really? That's why you are panicking about?" I ask him.

"Yes! I don't know why I'm freaking out though. I never panic about this stuff, but right now, I am freaking out!" 

"Have you talked to him before?" Maxine asks

"Yeah, but I didn't think he liked me."

"Do you like him?" I ask and Amias blushes. I smile at him and poke his arming teasingly. "I can't believe you had a crush on someone and didn't tell me."

"Did you make him fall in love with you?" Maxine asks. I give her a look and she puts her hands up in defense. "What? I'm curious."

"Walk away." I tell her without room for argue. Maxine walks away with a pout and I turn back towards Amias. 

"Do you think it's weird that I was taken back that he asked me out?"

"I mean... yeah. You're not someone who typically gets freaked out about that sort of thing."

"I know!" He yells and we stop talking and look at each other for a second. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry! I don't know why I yelled. I'm just freaking out right now."

"Hmm... I think it's because you are so used to wanting other people to be in their relationships and it scares you when others want to be with you."

"Shut up" I laugh at how red Amias' face is and we walk back towards his dorm. "You know. I'm glad I found you before I found Liam."

"Me too. We both know how Liam would react if you told him."

"Talking bad about me already, huh?" Amias and I jump at the sound of Liam's voice. 

"Yes. Yes, we are. We were just saying how annoying you are." I tell him sarcastically. Liam nods with a look on his face and we continue our walk. Bernard runs back to us with a stick in his mouth and drops it in front Liam. Liam smiles down at him and picks up the stick to throw it for Bernard. We get to Amias's dorm and he waves at us before he walks inside. I turn to Liam to see Bernard petting and making kissy faces at him.
