By the end of the weekend, Cassidy was well and truly invested in Kitt, as he had been with her. She was unsure how her dad would take the whole thing but surprisingly, after a very stern warning Kitt had been left unscathed. Cassidy's mom met him when she got home after work and found them watching television in the living room. She had told Kitt he was very talented, and that she loved the design he painted on Cassidy's bike. Later, she told Cassidy he was very handsome, so she should guard her heart because the pretty ones usually spelled trouble. Other than that she had been fine with it all. Cassidy decided she would take the summer off to spend more time with Kitt. She even learned how to cook to be able to take him lunch at work. The other guys made fun of them the first week but after that, they were just jealous that Kitt got a home-cooked lunch every day. Cassidy had been so caught up in Kitt that she had neglected her friendship with Miranda, and Patrice told her that Miranda was furious. Looking back she realized that when Miranda came back from the run she just blabber about Kitt and her and didn't even ask Miranda about her time riding with Finn. Cassidy tried to call her but it was obvious Miranda was ignoring her. She wanted to apologize but she also wanted to see Kitt. Ultimately she knew she had to make things right with her best friend. Cassidy sent Kitt a text letting him know that she was going to be spending some time with Miranda and she would call him after. Kitt just send back "Have fun with your friend." He truly was the perfect guy. But perfection my friends is not real. Nobody and no relationship is perfect. At first, it seems like it is, the honeymoon period they call it. Cassidy and Kitt's relationship seemed different, but was it?

Making up with Miranda was a complete process, one Cassidy was proficient at. This had not been their first fight. She went by the store and grabbed Miranda's favorite cookie cake as well as some MAC cosmetics because she was a MAC kind of girl. Once Miranda saw that little black bag with the MAC logo the battle would be already half won. And she had been right. As soon as Miranda opened the door Cassidy put on her best puppy eyes and immediately apologized.

"I am so sorry I was a bitch to you. I love you, you are my best friend and I do want to hear everything about the run. We can eat this cookie cake and get glammed up."

You might be wondering if that worked, and let me tell you my friends, it most certainly did. Miranda had needed a good cry and Cassidy felt like a bad friend because she had not realized how selfish she had been. It turned out that on the way to the festival part of the run Miranda had been pretty much in heaven, plastered to Finn's back. She was taking advantage of the closeness one hundred percent. When they got to the festival area Finn had been a gentleman helping her off the bike but he had been gone because the MC was having some kind of mini-meeting. She did have fun with Patrice and she also met a lot of other people but she didn't see Finn again at all that first day. They were all sleeping in this cabin that the MC had rented out so she was super excited to have some time to talk to Finn. It was already night time and she had come up with a plan to sneak into his bed. She was prepared to play dirty, obviously. She made sure to take a shower and reshave everything. She did her makeup and hair to look sexy as hell and of course, she wore her teeny-tiny pajama shorts and a thin, little white tank top that was 60% transparent. She knew she looked good because all the MC guys either whistled or complimented her somehow. Jerrod also told her she should cover up while she was in the living room area of the cottage. Cassidy wasn't surprised her dad had said that. He had known Miranda as long as she had, which meant since they were little kids, so he was protective over her. Miranda even called him Uncle Jarrod. Of course, Miranda had only been on the couch watching the TV because she had been waiting for Finn to arrive. When he did her whole body shivered because he was laughing and had no shirt on.

"I was up out of that couch and set on seduction. I knew I looked sexy as hell, so I was confident as fuck. Then that ugly ass bitch of his came in laughing behind him, looking like some damn mess. Her hair was all fucked up and her whole eyeliner and mascara were all smudged to shit. The sweat on Finn was sexy as hell on her it was just disgusting. So I still stood up to go talk to him you know, let him see the fucking difference. I told him I left something on the saddlebags of his bike right. He told the ugly-ass bitch to go with me because he needed to go to the bathroom. Can you believe that shit? Then this bitch has the gall to tell me that she knew what I was doing and she threaten my ass! She motherfucking threatened me! I was so furious. She was like, I know what you are trying to do bitch, you are not the only one but Finn is mine, or some shit like that. She told me she has a fucking black belt in some karate shit. She fucking told me she could kill me and leave no trace. How fucking unhinge is that bitch? Still, I knew I still had the ride back because ugly-ass Jackie Chan is scared of bikes. So on Sunday right, I'm having lunch at one of the picnic tables around the festival area when I see Finn coming my way. I was so fucking giddy because he was alone right. Patrice was with me and I squeeze her thigh so hard under the table that she slapped my hand so hard it stung. Patrice smiled at Finn and made some lame excuse to leave, bless her, she's crazy but she is the best. Then Finn's all like I hope you are having a blast and then he proceeds to tell me that motherfucking Deny is gonna drive me back because he and the wicked witch are staying for a couple more days. I was so mad dude I wanted to bitch and moan but lamely I just gave her the saddest excuse of a smile and told him I much rather be on the back of his bike. Do you know what he said? The bastard smiled a sad smile and said I know

darling, but I'm truly taken. Dumbass beautiful bastard! I don't even know why I still like him! The ride back was hell. Deny kept being all touchy-feely and it just gave me the ick big time. When we stopped for dinner on the way back I begged Patrice to lend me some long jeans because the Scottish bastard kept groping my legs. I felt sexually assaulted for real. I felt icky. When we got to the clubhouse it was like seeing the gates of fucking heaven open up. I pretty much jumped off and ran to my car. I was dying and when I called you, you didn't even pick up. Then the next day when you finally did I couldn't tell you shit because you wouldn't shut up about Kitt and his dick and how wonderful your origin story was. Then you motherfucking told me that you might not pick up because you were staying at Kitt's house. You broke my fucking heart dude."

Cassidy had a hell of a time making it up to Miranda but ultimately she had been forgiven. For the first time, she had to learn how to manage her time a bit better to be able to keep Miranda happy. After third wheeling it for a few dates Miranda was happy to decline the invitations that came after. "You guys are so lovey-dovey it makes me sick!" she had said playfully. After the summer things became more routine because she had to go back to school full time and her classes were harder. She would go visit Kitt after her last class at 6 pm and they had dinner together and usually were intimate before she had to go to bed in order to wake up at 6 am to get ready for college. She partied with him and spend weekends over at his place. She also began to find things in him that bother her. Sometimes he just look into the distance and it was clear he wasn't present, he was somewhere else. She would ask him what he was thinking, and even pry about it but he wouldn't say anything. He would change the subject and say it was nothing. Cassidy knew that for the bullshit it was. Did he not trust her? Then there was the whole jealousy thing. Not that he was jealous; it was pretty much the opposite. Cassidy didn't want a jealous boyfriend but every girl enjoys a sprinkling of jealousy. Let's you know you are important, that the person really wants you. She felt stupid about feeling that way but that didn't take away the fact that she was. When she would go to the shop the guys could be hugging her or openly flirting with her and he wouldn't say anything. Cassidy even confronted him about it once.

"Don't you care that he's flirting with me?" she had asked.

"I'm not a jealous guy. I trust you. If I didn't trust you I wouldn't be with you."

Cassidy was the first one to say I love you. They had been together for 4 months and she had been holding back the words since the first month they had been together. Kitt's response had been to kiss her but he didn't say I love you back and that really hurt her. She didn't want to tell him she was hurt because then he would say I love you only to placate her and not because he truly felt that way. Cassidy was in turmoil and she didn't like it. The few times she had dated before as soon as the guys started doing stupid shit or she felt annoyed, she would stop seeing them or she would break up with them. With Kitt it was different because she didn't want to break up with him, she loved him, and she was scared to realize that perhaps this was the first time she was really in love

with someone. These feelings and situations were so different that she actually went to her mom for advice. Her mom, bless her, had actually stopped working to sit with her, so kudos to mom. She had told her a lot of good things like she needed to communicate openly with Kitt, and something about compromise, self-love, and many other things, but what kept banging around inside her head was when she said that sometimes love wasn't enough. Her mother's eyes had watered when she said it and it broke her heart not only for what it implied for her but also because it was obvious her mom still loved her dad. Cassidy had tried after that to be open with Kitt but she was so scared to lose him that she always chickened out.

Kitt was not a party kind of guy. Every time she wanted to go out dancing or drinking he told her to go with her friends. At first, he had gone with her but now he said that was not his scene. With college she was busy during the week, college was stressful so on the weekends she wanted a release. Of course, the sex with Kitt was amazing but that didn't last for 48 hours. Now that the honeymoon was over she realized he wasn't really talking with her after sex, he just let her talk while his mind wandered somewhere else. In the beginning, it had been funny to her every time she asked him a question and he asked, "What did you say?" Now it was annoying because it was obvious he had not been listening. But did she get mad at him and accuse him of not listening to her? No, of course not. And that my friends, is one of the top five reasons why people break up. You bury the hurt and resentment and that shit just grows and grows until it's a giant monster, that one day breaks out and eats the other person whole.
