Cassidy had spent the whole afternoon riding her new bike. It ran like a dream and it looked amazing. She got a bunch of stares and countless thumbs up from people. Miranda had driven her truck back for her. When she had come back to the truck to tell her she was riding the bike back she had found her best friend, still sitting there like a goof, just staring at Finn working. Cassidy felt bad, she had to make sure to call Miranda when she got home. She had been so pumped about the bike that she had not really done much besides throw the keys at Miranda and ask her to drive the truck back.
When she got to her house her mom was also arriving so she showed her the motorcycle and geeked out about it. Her mom used to ride motorcycles when she was young but had not been on one since Cassidy was little. Still, even she had to say that the bike was lovely. She could tell that her mom was super tired so she let her go on inside. Carlotta Wilkinson was a beautiful woman but she was in serious need of a little R&R. Her mom had lovely blond hair she kept just under her shoulders and styled in soft waves, well that was when she left the house, when she returned it was usually in a messy bun on top of her head. She had lovely blue eyes the shade of sapphires. Cassidy always wished she had gotten her mom's eyes but no such luck for her. Her mom was the kind of pretty that won pageants. She always had a few suitors around but she was super focused on her career. Her mom dated occasionally, but most of the guys were so boring and stuck up that Cassidy never cared to get to know them. There had been a nice one named Tom when she was about 10 that had potential, at least in her book at the time. He had a farm with horses and was some kind of doctor. They had dated for about a year and he was always super nice to them. But they broke off eventually because she later found out he wanted to marry her mother but Carlotta had other plans. Sometimes Cassidy liked to pretend that her parents would get back together. She fantasized that neither of them ever found true love because they were supposed to end up together.
It was silly to think so but a girl could dream. Her dad had said it to her outright, he still loved her mom. He said she was the only woman that he had ever loved until Cassidy came along. And she was sure her mom still had some feelings for her dad, even if she liked to pretend otherwise. But she saw how she looked at him when he would drop her off after their weekends together. If anything she still found him attractive. Her dad was a handsome guy after all. She parked her motorcycle inside the garage and went to take a shower. After getting into her pajamas she jumped in her bed and looked at her messages. There were a couple of DMs from her friends. One of them was from Miranda, letting her know the truck was at her house, and one was from her party-crazy friend Esperanza, asking her if she wanted to go to the club for Latin night. The last message was from her friend Patrice, she was Sylver's daughter, so they had grown up together in the MC world. The message she wanted though was not there. No missed calls or texts from Kitt. Well, she had tried. Maybe he would call her later, it was still early. She texted Esperanza that she was tired, posted a couple of pics of her bike online, and called Miranda.
Her friend Patrice picked up the phone and she could hear the radio blasting in the background. "Hello there, stranger. Hear you are moving in on my man," Patrice said in her high-pitched voice.
"He is not yours, and I was not trying to pick him up. Just picking up my sweet-ass Harley. I posted some pics. You've got to see this beut. Kitt really did an awesome job."
"I'm sure everything he does is awesome."
"Why are you picking up Miranda's phone? Is she not there?"
"Bathroom. Did you get my message?"
"Yes, that meme was so freaking funny. I truly don't know where you find this stuff."
"It's a gift. Oh, here's Miranda. Talk to you later Cass." Patrice gave the phone to Miranda.
"Cassidy? About fucking time dude. where the fuck did you ride to, China?"
