It's been two days since the sleepover aka the best night I've had in weeks. It's also a Monday, which is the most hated day of the week out of all of the days of the week. Mom drives me to school, and I meet Cassie on the way inside. We walk inside and up to our lockers. We chat as we opened up our lockers to get all the stuff we need and Cassie walks off to class. I turn around to the left to head to class, but I immediately turn right back around and squish in my face as I see Lukas DiLaurentis standing right behind me talking to someone.

I start to walk away when I hear him say something.

"Hey hottie," he says walking right in front of me smiling.

"Hi," I say looking annoyed, "I predicted that you would just treat me like a stranger like you do with all the other girls you just randomly make out with," I say with a sarcastic smile.

"What?" he says, smiling "I'd recognize that ass anywhere," he says with his eyes looking towards there. My jaw drops and I playfully push his shoulder and we both laugh. I've never really noticed how good-looking he is. His brown hair swooped back on his head, and his bright blue eyes staring right into mine.

"So, uh, do you want to hang out sometime?" he asks, giving an eyebrow raise.

I open my mouth to answer, and then remember that he doesn't know about the whole situation, so I change my answer.

"Um, sure. Text me," I say, with a slight smile. But as soon as I said that, I regret it. My parents would probably rather die than let me go out with a guy, alone.

"Great," Lukas says, "Count on it." He winks and walks away. The bell rings, and I walk to class. I'm not sure how I feel about going out with Lukas, but I think I might like him. I smile and embrace all the happiness in my body, and let it show on the outside.

A few hours pass, and it's time for lunch. I get a kale salad and my usual Fiji water, and skip over to the table and sat down. Everyone's looking at me as if I have "I'm desperate" written on my forehead.

"What?" I laugh, unscrewing the cap to my water.

"Is that a smile I spot on Evelyn Salvatore's face?" Ariel says, mixing around her soup.

"Yup! I think it is," I exclaim.

"Spill!" Lucinda says, leaning in on the table.

"Guess who asked me out?" I ask everyone.

"Who?!"Everyone shouts.

"Lukas!" I exult with happiness. Everyone screeches and shouts with joy.

"Cassie, are you okay with this? Because I know you guys, like... you know," I say, with concern.

"Oh yeah totally. I think that that was just a one night thing," she says.

"Okay good. Oh my god I don't really know what to feel right now," I say.

"Evelyn Salvatore, feel happy! Feel excited!" Juliet says with joy.

We're all talking for the rest of the lunch period, and I'm in the best mood.
I jump into Mom's car at the end of the day, and she could obviously tell that I'm jumping out of my skin.

"What's got you so happy today?" Mom asks starting up the car.

"Nothing," I say, giggling.

"Oh, okay, nothing. C'mon sweetie, tell me." Mom says, sarcastically.

"Fine... Lukas DiLaurentis asked me out!" I exclaim.

"Bridgette and Nathan DiLaurentis' son?" Mom asks.

"Yeah! He's so hot and I think he likes me," I say, sort of cocky.

"Congrats, Evie-Bevie. What are you guys planning to do?" Mom says suspiciously.

"Um, I'm not sure yet. He said he would text me, but I'm think probably dinner or a movie or something -," I say.

"Oh, no. Nope, nope, nope. No going out if neither your dad nor me is there," Mom says, cutting me off.

"Mom, seriously?" I complain.

"If you guys want to hang out, you're going to have to do it at the house," Mom demands, shaking her head.

"Are you kidding? Mom, I know how to defend myself. I'm not a child anymore," I reply.

"I'm well aware that you aren't a child anymore, but I don't want a repeat of the last time we left you home alone," Mom says.

I groan and say, "Mom, Lukas will be with me, and he's a vampire so he can protect me, I just need to explain this whole situation to him," I reply.

"Evelyn, we can talk about this with your dad at home," Mom negotiates. I sigh and am silent the rest of the car ride. Mom glances over at me once in a while, but don't say anything either. I have a feeling she's contemplating letting me go out with Lukas. We walk into the house and I find Dad unpacking grocery bags on the kitchen counter.

"Hey Munchkin, how was school?" he says.

"Boring as hell," I say, putting my bag down and sitting at one of the stools,

"Dad, Mom isn't letting me go out with my friend," I complain.

"Well, she forgot to mention that this so called, "friend" is a boy, and a vampire," Mom adds.

"Whoa, whoa. Stop right there. Evelyn you are not, and I repeat not going out with a boy without one of us there," Dad says as my mom nods in agreement.

"Oh my G-d, this is ridiculous! Why can't I have one night, just one simple night to myself without you guys peering over my shoulder every other second?"

"Evelyn, it's decided. You can only hang out here, or with one of us with you," Mom says.

"Ugh! Why can't you just... wait... I have an idea," I say, with that little glint in my eye.

"What?" Dad says.

"Why don't I suggest to Lukas that him and I go to a restaurant, and someone can sit at a near table and keep an eye on me?" I suggest with hope. Mom and Dad look at each other and look like they're pondering the idea.

"Well, could we be the people keeping a close eye on you?" Mom asks in her begging voice.

"Nope. Not a chance in hell," I say emotionless.

"Hey, watch your tone," Dad says,

"Well then who could it be?" Dad asks, unwrapping a granola bar.

"I don't know, um... maybe Aunt Caroline and Uncle Stefan, or Aunt Bonnie, or Uncle Matt!" I suggest with a smile.

"Both Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Matt are out of town," Mom says, taking a bite of Dad's granola bar, "But I guess, your aunt and uncle can work."

"Yay! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I say hugging both of them.

"We'll ask them, and if they say it's okay, then you can go," Dad says taking another bite of the granola bar.

"I love you guys!" I say, taking the last bite of the granola bar, "I'll be in the living room!" I walk into the living room and jump onto the couch. I'm beaming with happiness. I text Lukas,
"Nourriture, six o'clock, Friday?"
He texts back immediately, "Sure, can't wait."

Nourriture is my favorite restaurants, it's name means 'food' in French. I bite my bottom lip, and tap the side of my phone. I'm so excited. But my parents ruin the nice vibe by coming in and being crazy. Mom sitting by my side, and dad sitting in his armchair. I turn the T.V. on and watch random shows and do my homework the whole afternoon.
