Chapter VI

The rest of the week was kind of a drag. The only thing I'm looking forward to is my date with Lukas. Tuesday was just like any other day. Hump day was a little better than Tuesday, because Lukas smiled and winked at me in the hallway. Thursday was exactly like Tuesday. Just like any other day. But today is Friday and today is going to be amazing.

I'm walking to chemistry, which is a class I have with Lukas, and as I'm in the hallway, I feel someone put their arm around me.

"Hey hottie," Lukas says, chewing gum.

"Hey," I say giving a little wave.

"Excited for tonight?" he asks, doing that little eyebrow raise he always does.

"Pumped," I say smiling.

"Good," he says, "See you then. I'll pick you up at six," he says starting to walk away.

"Oh, Lukas, wait!" I say taking his arm,

"Um, I need to tell you something," I say. I explain to him the situation with Moira and he totally understands, which gave me that big sigh of relief. But I didn't tell him that I'm being supervised. He kisses me on the cheek (Ah!) and we both walk into chem. He keeps looking at me during class and winking, or doing his eyebrow raise. Honestly... I think he really likes me. When the end of the day finally comes, Aunt Caroline picks up Juliet and me. Mom doesn't want Juliet and me driving alone, and she thinks it would be nice for Caroline to pick us up.

"Hey girlies," Caroline says, "Hey sweetie," she says giving Juliet a kiss,

"Hey Evie," Caroline says as I climb into the back of the car.

"Hey, Aunt Caroline," I say giving her a hug from the back seat.

"You excited for your date tonight," Caroline asks.

"Yup! Can't wait for you and Uncle Stefan to join us," I say sarcastically, as Juliet laughs.

"Hey, don't worry just pretend we aren't there," Caroline says.

"Like that'll be easy," Juliet jokes.

"Hey!" Caroline says, poking her.

I laugh and say, "LOL, I just hope that little witch-bitch got the message after the second time we encountered."

"Everything will be fine if your uncle and I are there. We'll just rip her throat out if she comes near you," Caroline says, and chuckles. We all laugh and chat on our way home. Caroline drops me off at my house. And as I walk up to the front door Mom walks out, and waves to Caroline. Caroline waves back, and pulls out of our driveway.

Mom gives me a hug, and we both walked inside. We're chilling in the living room and watching "One Tree Hill" (my favorite show) and then I start to get ready for the big night. I curl my hair, apply my "smoky eye" eye make up, and my favorite red lipstick. I put on my favorite ivory, lace dress and nude wedges. I walk over to my jewelry box, and put on my Mom's old vervain necklace. I look at myself in my full body mirror. Not to sound self-centered or anything, but I have to admit... I look beautiful!

The doorbell interrupts my thoughts. I beam, and grab my bag. I run downstairs and open the door. Lukas is standing there, and looks right up at me as I open the door.

"Hi," I say smiling.

"Hey," he says, "You look great."

"Thanks," I say with a smile.

"Yup," I say, starting to walk out the door when Mom took my arm.

"Bye, honey have fun," she says and leaned in to give me a hug and when she did, she whispers very faintly,
