I sit in bed doing nothing for the rest of the night. I walk downstairs at around eight a.m., to find Imogen at the kitchen table flipping through a book and sipping from an intact teacup.
"Morning," I say giving a little wave.
"Dia duit," she says, "Oh, I'm sorry, I'm not used to speaking English that much,"
"How did you learn English anyway?" I ask pouring myself some tea.
"My friend teached me. Because, we moved from Ireland when I was four, we spoke Irish. But we lived in the states, so I knew I needed to learn. I no tell my family that I knew English. They would've been angry," She says, still flipping through her book.
"What is that?" I ask, sitting down and pointing to the book."It is my mother's grimoire," she says looking at me.
"What's a grimoire?" I ask taking a sip of my tea.
"It is book of spells. My mother was witch, so she had this," she says, still flipping through the pages.
"Have you found the spell we need yet?" I ask.
"No." she says emotionless. We search the book for so long, and eventually find the spell. In Latin, it reads, "Escape from witch-casted prison world," and it has a very long spell.
"Are you ready?" she asks, looking at me.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I reply.
"I will get dressed, and then we will go," she says, getting up and walking toward the stairs. I smile and then, because I'm already dressed, stay downstairs. I'm thinking. I really want to get out of this place, and so does Imogen, but I don't want her to get out. She's crazy! I don't want her hurting anyone. But I can't do the spell without her, and I guess she's just going to have to adapt to 2015. I just hope the spell works, and that we don't overexert, and use too much magic at once.
"Let's go," Imogen says, interrupting my train of thought. I get up and we go out the door. We start walking and Mystic Falls looks like a totally different place. All of the shops and stores that I know of in 2015 are blacksmiths, and a few hand-sewn clothes shops. The church is still there, and looks no different. The Mystic Grill was a tea parlor in 1864.
"We need to perform spell in Moira's cave. It is this way," Imogen says pointing to the left.
We walk about two miles until we reach Moira's cave. We walk through that secret tunnel, and into the cave. It's the same cave that I appeared in when Moira banished me here.
She put the grimoire on the floor so that we can see the spell.
"Give me your hands," she says, with her hands out. I give her my hands, and we start chanting the spell. Wind starts circling around us, and as we get louder, a bright light above us keeps getting bigger. My body starts to ache after a little bit, and I could tell that Imogen's power was wearing out. The light keeps getting bigger, and bigger the louder, and longer we chant the spell. And then all of a sudden, Imogen and I swoop up into the light. All I see is white for a split second, and then I appear in Moira's cave... in 2015! Her table and her throne are there! The spell worked! I look at Imogen and we both smile, and laugh, and cheer with happiness.
She starts to walk out of the cave, and then I stop her.
"Imogen... wait," I say putting my hand out. She walks back toward me with a concerned look."I'm just warning you... there's going to be a lot of different things from 1864. There's a lot of new technology, and electricity... so just try not to be overwhelmed," I say.
"You can teach me," she says smiling. We both walk out of the cave, and we start to walk toward my house. I beam when I see it. I ring the doorbell and Mom answers it.
