Warnings: none really, might be a bit out of character for Rain

Summary:

Mountain goes on his daily morning walks and comes across Rain. And then thunder strikes

It was raining this morning, but it didn't stop Mountain from going on his early morning walks. He gets to enjoy the silence before chaos (Swiss and Sodo) happens. Not to forget the fresh and crisp air.

The clock reads 5:30 AM as Mountain leaves his room, quietly. He walks through the abbeys halls, his quiet footsteps echo through them. It wasn't pouring outside so he didn't bring a rain jacket. The fog was quite present though, it covered most of the lake that was beside the abbey.

He makes his way to the greenhouse first to tend to his plants. The earth ghoul was quite fond of his plants and cared for them very well. It was always one of the first things he did in the morning.

Once he finished watering and greeting all his plants (yes he talks to them, deal with it). He walks outside and finds a figure sitting on the dock who wasnt there before. He decides to approach the individual. Once closer he can see better who it was. It was Rain.

"Morning," Mountain says softly keeping a bit of distance to avoid startling the Water ghoul.

"Good morning." He replies looking at the taller ghoul and mimicking his tone. "I'm sorry if I woke you up." Mountain apologizes while sitting next to Rain on the dock before letting his feet go in the water. "Don't apologize, you didn't wake me up. Papa let me know that it was gonna rain this morning. He knows I like the rain, most people do." Rain stated but mumbled the last part, not wanting to make his bandmate feel bad about not knowing this.

It suddenly started to rain harder, Rain just looks up and let the rain fall on his face. All Mountain could do was stare at him. How could he be this beautiful? Mountain knew he had fallen for the bassist but tried to hide it and ignore his feeling for him. He feared the worse. He didn't want Rain to reject him and see him differently.

A loud sound of thunder snapped Mountain out of his thought. He stiffened, and that caught Rain's attention. "Is everything ok?" Rain asks with large concern. The earth ghoul was quite used to sudden loud noises being the band's drummer. It wasn't normal for him to react like that. "Thunder." was all Mountain said. "Are you scared of thunder?" Rain asked the ghoul who jumped at the second sound of thunderstruck. He nodded profoundly. Rain got up and grabbed his arm immediately dragging him back inside. Mountain followed Rain dumbstruck. They made their way back to the ghoul common room with haste.

Once arrived, Rain leads him to the fireplace and then lights it up to heat up the wet earth ghoul. "Stay. Im just gonna get stuff real quick." The water ghoul said. And Mountain didn't move till Rain got back. Rain had earplugs, and a towel in hand. He sits next to the scared ghoul. He dries the other ghoul before drying himself off. Once Mountain is dry he hands him the earplugs, which he puts in quickly to muffle the sound of thunder. "I love you" Mountain blurted out of the blue, in a gentle manner. Rain simply looked back at him a little shocked. The water ghoul cups his cheek and kisses him. His kisses were soft, gentle, and tasted like peaches (Rain has a peach-flavored lip balm). "Let's get you out of these wet clothes." Rain goes to get up but is dragged back down. "Stay." His new partner tells him. Rain only shakes his head a bit. He gets up and leaves Mountain sitting alone.

The earth ghoul looks around the room, waiting for Rain. He sees the water ghoul in dry clothes on and some of his clothes nicely folded in his hands. "I got you clothes that aren't drenched in water." Rain said with a smile before turning around giving Mountain privacy to change.

Mountain tapped Rains shoulder to let him know he was done. Rain turns around and find an earth ghoul with his arms open for snuggles. Rain gives in and snuggles up with his new boyfriend. Falling asleep next to the sound of crackling fire and thunder which only the water ghoul could hear.
