Summary:

The ghoul's get an annual medical exams and it's your first year doing it and you learn a bit of Sodo's Past.

It's my first year working here as a doctor at the ministry. I've heard awful things about the ghouls medical exams. Some say it's worse than trying to bathe a cat. Most people got their way out of it. I was put in charge of Copia's ghouls. It can actually be as bad as people say it is.

I look at a small table filled with clipboards. They have all the names and information of each ghoul. I take the first one and start the medical examinations.

"Swiss?" I call out in the ghoul's den.

"Thats me!" He says with a big smile.

"It's time for your medical exam," I say nervously. I'm starting to worry about how bad it is. Maybe they weren't exaggerating when they said it was awful.

"Lead the way," He says while getting up and following me.

{Time skip to after the examination}

"It wasnt as bad as people said it would be," I say nonchalantly

"That's cause you started with me and not Sodo" Swiss replies rapidly

"What do you mean?" I ask

"You'll see. It's not for me to tell." Swiss says while leaving

Why wouldn't he tell me? I got way too curious. I have to do Sodo's Exam next. I look at the clipboards for Sodos. I can't find his clipboard anywhere. He probably got someone who's more experienced than me. I decide to move on and do the examinations. Swiss was first. Rain Second. Mountain Third. Phantom Fourth. Aurora Fith. Cumulus Sixth. Cirrus Seventh. And the last one was Dewdrop. I'm not familiar with a ghoul called Dewdrop. I knew the other since I've had short conversations with them before. Dewdrop's probably really quiet, pleasant, and agreeable.

I stop in my train of thought and go get supper. I eat my supper quickly and quietly before going on a walk to grab fresh air. On my walk, I find Mountain and Rain in the garden.

"Hey," I say quietly not to startle them

Mountain only nods in response.

"Mountains showing me the newest part of the garden" Rain explains

"We got a duck pond with waterlilies," Mountain says while showing it to me.

"It's pretty," I say

After a few minutes of silence. Comfortable silence. I thought of Dewdrop. Mountain or Rain should know who they are.

"Hey... Do you guys know anyone called Dewdrop?" I ask

They look at me really shocked. Was I supposed to know who that was?

"How do you know that name?" Rain says to me in a stern tone.

"I'm supposed to examine them," I say

"It's Sodo" Mountain tells me matching Rains tone

The air has gotten really tense.

"Don't call him that though. He will kill you if you do and I'm not joking." Rain says

"Especially from someone like you," Mountain says "You should go," He says following that.

I don't hesitate to leave. What do they mean someone like me?

I go to do my final examination. I'm dreading this one. Why did it say Dewdrop? Why not Sodomizer or even Sodo? Why won't anyone tell me whats going on? I'm going to figure this out myself. I march toward the ghouls den

"Sodomizer. Exam time." I say loudly so that he could hear me.

The room when quiet and all heads turned to Sodo trying to run away but he got stopped by Ifrit and Aether. They started dragging him like a kid. Maybe this was going to be as bad as they say it is.

Once in the exam room with Sodo, Ifrit and Aether leave and Sodo admitted defeat. The exam was going to happen whether he liked it or not.

"Alrighty. Let's get started. Name: Dewdrop, Element: Fire/Water Hybrid" I started reading the sheet in front of me.

"Don't call me that." He said interrupting me "Not after what happened about 6 years ago" He said

"What happened 6 years ago? If you don't mind me asking."

"After Papa died. The thrid one not Copia. They started an experiment on me. I was originally a water ghoul but they tried summoning a fire ghoul to replace Ifrit since he was a lot of trouble in the band. He said he had a bomb up his ass." That made both of us chuckle. "I dared him to do that. But their summon was wrong they summoned Rain. Not a fire ghoul." His back hunched over and his tail fell into his lap. He looked so vulnerable. "They chose to put Rain as bass and try to genetically modify me to become a fire ghoul. They fuck me up badly. They didn't even fucking ask before doing it. They just kept drugging me to be quiet and still. I had a bunch of needles in me and different surgeries. They even kept me in a cage like I was a fucking animal." He explains

"That's not ok." I say "That shouldn't happen. You have to have consent to do that shit on people." I say infuriated that this happened. "I'm so sorry that happened," I say. His tail fell out of his lap and started swaying softly.

"It's the first time someone from the ministry, that isn't a ghoul, thinks that." He says

"What the fuck is wrong with some of these people," I say. Sodo just shrugs.

"We can do the exam if you promise nothing bad is gonna happen." He says.

"Nothing bad is going to happen. I promise." I say to reassure him.

{Time skip to the end of the examination}

"There you go, it wasn't that bad now was it?" I tell him

"No." He answers purring.

"By the way. you're my favourite doctor now." He says while pulling me onto the examination table and cuddling me. What a strange ghoul?
