Chapter 8 | Final breath

2 years have passed. Kaveh has enjoyed every moment of his life thanks to Alhaitham. They went to all the extraordinary places and discovered a lot of fun things in the last few years.

"Kaveh, I have a surprise for you."

"What is it Haitham?"

Alhaitham brings out a cat with a green collar.

"A KITTEN? LIKE I ALWAYS WANTED?? AWWW THANK YOU SO MUCH ALHAITHAM I LOVE YOU SO MUCHH"

"I love you too Kaveh, more than anything."

Alhaitham hated cats before which made him scream at Kaveh before for bringing back stray cats to his apartment. The stray cats would usually tear up the pages of his books, paperwork, and his bills. Kaveh would usually excuses for the cat to stay, but Haitham kicked the cat out and nearly Kaveh. But now, Alhaitham adopted a kitten for Kaveh.

Kaveh and the little kitten played for hours and hours. Alhaitham felt a little jealous 'cause Kaveh seemed like he was giving most of his love to the kitten.

"I'll name the kitten, Mehrak!"

"That's a nice name Kaveh.. I remember.."

While Kaveh was playing with Mehrak, Alhaitham turned on the tv and changed the channel to the news

There is a serial killer on the run.

"Kaveh! Are there any supplies left?"

"None"

Kaveh and Alhaitham went out to the city to buy the supplies they needed. Kaveh brought the kitten with him secretly in a basket. Alhaitham brought a blade his father gave to him before he died. It was dedicated to the protection and to protect the people you love and care dearly.

Kaveh saw a dead body near him. He was stunned. The killer was near. He wasn't far, he could kill one of the two.

Kaveh stood behind Alhaitham as he pointed at the body.

Alhaitham wasn't scared. But what he's scared of is death. He could feel the scent of blood around him. The blonde felt like his time is near. He can't accept it because he won't be with Alhaitham anymore. But he knows in another life, they will be reunited.

"Alhaitham. THIS IS THE PRICE OF WHAT YOU HAVE DONE TO ME."

"NO!"

Kaveh was shot in the chest. His time came.

Behind the killer was Officer Dehya, one of the chief police. She knocked out the serial killer and arrested him. Meanwhile, Kaveh lay in Alhaitham's arms after being stabbed. Kaveh started crying while he was still bleeding. In his final breath, he told Alhaitham:

"Alhaitham, I can't believe my time has come... please take care of Mehrak for me, please be there for me when we're alive again in another life, please... don't go Haitham... I love you."

The hands touched Alhaitham's cheek before his eyes are permanently shut down, as well as his body, and heart.

"Kaveh... I love you too. Don't go don't go, please. Don't go.."

The hands soon fell off Alhaitham's cheek.

Alhaitham couldn't stop crying. His heart broke at the moment his soulmate died. He felt like the world was nothing anymore. Alhaitham never let go of Kaveh's body, filled with blood all over. Mehrak came out of the basket as the poor kitten looked sad as its owner died. Alhaitham's cries were as loud as the pain he has felt, he will never believe Kaveh died. He will never believe Kaveh is gone. He will never marry another after his lover passed.

Two ambulances arrived after a while. Taking away Alhaitham and Kaveh. Before Alhaitham passed out, he tried to reach for Kaveh as he was in the other ambulance.

After 5 days, when Alhaitham gained consciousness, he visited Kaveh's hospital room, where he is soon going to be placed in a morgue.

"Kaveh... I'm sorry for not protecting you. I knew you were going to die this year but I didn't expect it to be 5 days ago. I'm sorry."

As Alhaitham left, he kissed Kaveh's lips on his dead body. He soon left, feeling emptiness in his heart.

"Kaveh. I love you."
