(CW! a bit of blood)
Standing outside the Governors meeting room, dead bodies littering the ground around us and blood splattering our clothes and weapons, we must have looked quite the sight. "Nori, what's the situation on the other side?"
"They have barricaded the doors with any furniture that could have been moved. There is also a vast number of guards there blocking the way to the Parliament."
"I see. Heidi, how many arrows do you have left?"
"A decent amount, I made sure to gather as many as I could back."
"That is good."
"Altair, would you be able to carry us all up to the roof of the room quietly?"
"It might be difficult to carry Jackal but I believe I can."
"Good. Here's the plan: they expect us to come barging in through the doors after wasting strength and energy, this would make it easier for them to pick us off as we went through. I propose that instead, we all attack from the roof, jumping down like a mountain lion on its prey. This way, they will be our sitting ducks. Does anyone have any other ideas?"
Heidi was the one to speak up. "No, that is a genius plan. We shall do as you say."
"Alright, let's get this show on the road."
One by one, Altair lifted us all up onto the glass roof. The people below had no idea about the death that was about to drop on their heads.
Once everyone was positioned around the roof, I gave Altair the signal in the air. With a grace that drastically contrasted the brutality of his intent, Altair threw one of the spears he had acquired down to the roof and guards below - following quickly behind. I couldn't see it, but the sound and spiked energies that welted up as soon as the glass was shattered let me know that the governor, his officials and their guards had not been expecting this. Shouts of frustration, pain and even fear prevailed as they realised just how much of a disadvantage they were in against the avain.
Readying my sword, I grinned, turning to my friends. "We go in." It was quite comical how much more they all began to panic when they realised that there were more people attacking than just Altair. At this point, many of the guards realised their situations and started to surrender. These, Jackal dealt with, putting them into a trance-like state with his hypnotic smoke. We would deal with them later. The remaining soldiers however, fought even harder after witnessing that. Which, honestly, made it easier to beat them. People whose minds are clouded by fear make very poor fighting decisions.
As the last guard fell to one of Heidi's arrows, I waited, feeling the stirred up energies finally regain some structure while also sensing all of the people left in the room. Altair, Nyx, Heidi, Jackal, Nori. As well as the last man standing - the cause for our rebellion. Governor Pompiás. Walking towards where I can sense him to be, I feel a calm stillness in my thoughts.
"Well, Pompiás, how does it feel to be the last man standing? How does it feel to have all of your hard work stand here with blood on sword, all the strength you had envisioned for your "empire" ... only for it to be against you?" I chuckled lightly, amused. The dog has bitten the hand of its 'master'. "I would be so disappointed. All those people who had been loyal to you - guards, scientists, politicians - all complete fools who couldn't contain an itty bitty rebellion."
