The infiltration had been successful. The few guards had been taken out quickly and effectively with no sound of alarm being raised. After the initial breakthrough - Nikki and Phil went to scout while I would work deeper into the fortress. It seemed that this was going to be the easiest mission I had done yet. The Voices were even complaining at the lack of blood and violence. Though - they were still much quieter since that one voice was removed.
There were only two people in the room. I quickly analysed their strengths and weaknesses. The one on the higher chair was blind - she would be easy to take care of - even if she managed to run away. That left the one on the lower chair first. Preparing my sword I exhale quietly before moving forward in an unnatural burst of speed, sword aiming to cut clean and sharp. It was a good swing. Balanced, clear, no room for error or retribution. And yet, the blow didn't land. I grunted in surprise. Silver sword gleaming against my own, hidden gaze unseeing, strength pushing against strength. She is strong. Surprisingly so.
The female who had been my original target moved back, causing me to flicker my gaze from the one in front of me towards her. Bad move. A heave of power sent me stumbling backwards, trying to regain my footing. The Voices are beginning to stir. They are eager for a fight. Eager for blood. With no clear communication between them, the other female nods and moves off behind the blind one, keeping a wary gaze on him in doing so. Telepathic communication? It wouldn't matter. Gripping my sword in front of myself, I readied for another onslaught. This time I wouldn't miss. I could see the female get into a ready stance, even though I hadn't made a sound - she knew I was coming. I tried to dance around her to confuse any sounds that she might have heard before swinging my sword around in an attempt to cut her head. With a pristine grace that can only be taken from years of experience, she sweeps under my blade as it passess by her harmlessly - completely missing. The Voices are getting louder again. Blood for the Blood god. I growl internally as she moves to my left side, obviously trying to flank me. I frown in frustration, she is still evading me with ease and I am still unable to get a well placed strike. The growing clamour from the Voices is beginning to be annoying yet at the same time, when was the last time I had to use all of my senses to beat someone? I would give the Voices a show.
Sword swing after sword swing I attempt to injure her badly enough to gain an advantage in the fight. She evades with grace and ease every time, even managing to give me a rap on my sword hand on one occasion - the Voices don't let me hear the end of it. I flick my ears back beginning to really get annoyed. Taking a step back I prepare for a final blow. The Voices scream in a melee, wanting blood, wanting death. A movement. She anticipated my blow and was ready. Moving her wrist in a circular motion around my sword as I swing - locking the hilts in place - she smiles and my eyes widen as in one quick, clean movement she sends my sword flying across the room. Next moment I see a sword tip move up to my neck and I swallow nervously - the Voices mocking and taunting.
Smiling again the female finally speaks. Not an ounce of exhaustion present in her voice. "Never thought I would meet The Blade in the physical realm, let alone best him in battle." The Voices are quiet for a moment before suddenly increasing in volume - speaking so many different things that it's hard to tell what it actually is that they are saying. The woman chuckles before sheathing her sword. I narrow my eyes suspiciously. No one else here had seemed to know who I was, how then did she? "Who are you? How do you know me?"
She smiled again, softer but still cheeky. "The Voices know me." My eyes widened, trying to comprehend what she said. How does she know? I've never met her or told her. Anyone who does know couldn't have told her since this place is so far away from the DreamSMP. For a moment I can't think. Then I register the Voices. They are whispering almost excitedly, their thoughts seem to be that of companionship? One voice jumps out at me in the melee of the others. 'Friend half voice lost now found.' My brian freezes as the other Voices begin to agree - showing ... affection? Towards this woman who managed to best me in battle. "You were a voice?" She nods, the same smile still on her face.
