When Taehyung entered the room with the coffee for the idol, he heard some coughing sounds from inside.

He walked in and saw Jungkook coughing. He rushed to him.

"Sir? Are you okay?" he asked, but all he got in response was more coughing from the idol.

"W-ater!" Jungkook said between coughs.

Taehyung grabbed the glass of water from the table and handed it to Jungkook.

But when Jungkook looked up, Taehyung felt mesmerized.

Those doe eyes of Jungkook were telling a story. For the first time, Taehyung noticed that Jungkook had clearly been crying before coming here. The red eyes and nose were proof small coughing fits alone couldn't cause such redness.

Suddenly, Taehyung wanted to know what had made Jungkook cry and who was behind those tears.

It's wrong to feel this way? Taehyung asked himself.

Of course, it is wrong. He had no right to intrude on Jungkook's personal matters.

Jungkook drank the entire glass of water, but the coughing persisted.

Then, Taehyung did something he wished he hadn't. He touched the world-famous idol—he touched Jeon Jungkook.

For the first time, he crossed a line—a line Jin had made very clear for him not to cross.

He approached the idol, hesitated for a moment, and then gently placed his hand on Jungkook's head.

He softly, pat his head.

Taehyung didn’t understand why he chose to ignore the clear boundary between them.

Jungkook looked up when he felt the pat on his head. His eyes widened in surprise as he saw Taehyung giving him gentle head pats.

One long tear dropped from jungkook' eyes.

Taehyung raised his other hand to wipe the tears away.

Did Jungkook feel something?

Of course he did. Feelings he shouldn’t have.

A sudden emotion, which they both wished to avoid, was now knocking at their door, and neither of them was aware of it.

When you’re vulnerable, a simple touch of care can affect you the most.

In that moment, both were vulnerable for different reasons.

Taehyung's hand was gently cupping Jungkook's face.

Jungkook closed his eyes as he felt Taehyung's fingers softly wiping his tears.

But he opened them when he realized the touch was no longer there, the patting had stopped.

The care and tenderness were suddenly gone.

His eyes met Taehyung's chocolate brown orbs, and he saw it clearly.

Regret. Pure regret.

Regret. Pure regret.

He wished he could turn back time and never looked into Taehyung’s eyes.

“I-I… sorry,” Taehyung stuttered, stepping back hurriedly. “S-so sorry!” He bowed his head repeatedly. “Sorry, I’m, I don’t know what got into me! I-I’m sorry!”

Jungkook sighed and stood up, moving toward Taehyung to stop him from bowing constantly. “It’s okay, hyung-nim. Really.”

Taehyung shook his head. “It’s not okay, sir. It’s not! I shouldn’t have touched you. I-I’ll be right back. Sorry again!” He said and ran out of the room without looking back.
