Chapter 13 ~ Down to the Ground

Chapter 13 ~ Down to the Ground

Percy Jackson

     As soon as I arrived at the Big House, Chiron called for all the counselors. The news of Annabeth kidnapping spread like wild fire as I clenched my fists in silence, trying to keep all the bursting emotions inside. The Counselors have each done their own research about the Egyptians, the most successful being Athena and Hecate cabin.

      Lou Ellen looked up from the pile of scrolls she brought with her "You're telling me they took Annabeth inside a statue?"

     I nodded "The Egyptian Gods are also behind them and planning doomsday with Chaos."

     There was only silence as we stared at each other. Unsure of what to say.

      Malcolm who had taken Annabeth's place as a representative of Cabin 6 "You are telling me that we aren't allies with the Egyptians."

       I nodded "The enemy isn't just Gaea and Chaos. The Egyptians are planning doomsday with them and Annabeth is part of their games. I won't be surprised if they will attack us right now."

      I was surprised at the tone from my own voice which was filled with bitterness and anger. The others seemed to be taken aback too because a nervous feeling hung in the air as they exchanged glances.

      Jason asked "Do you even know where their camp is?"

       I tried to remember what I heard and saw from the boat. I said the first word that came into my mind "Academy Du Couteau... They said something about Magicians there."

       Nobody spoke for a moment until a voice, so small we almost didn't catch it "Academy of the Knives."

      We all turned to the source of the voice as Jason asked "You know that place, Piper?"

      She shook her head "No, I just translated it, Du Couteau is French for of the Knives."

       Clarisse stabbed her knife on the ping pong table "At least we got a lead on those scums."

       Travis Stoll asked as he frowned into the scroll Katie Gardner brought "So, what do you suggest we do?"

      Clarisse opened her mouth to speak but I beat her to it "Find out where it is and do whatever we can to drag out information."

     Nico asked from the corner "And if you mean by do whatever we can, are destroying and killing part of it?"

      I replied in a neutral voice that sent murmurs among the counselors "Yes."

      Jason turned to me "Percy, you can't be serious."

      I replied taking Riptide out "They took Annabeth, and they should never expect to get away with it."

      Lou Ellen held up a scroll "You said you saw a circle with a star in it in one of the maps." She spread it in the middle of the table "This is a complete list of the Hieroglyphs and the star with a circle means 'Duat' their underworld. We literally have to go through their hell to reach Annabeth."
