it was chaotic to say the least

yu-jeong is trying to keep us in one place, counting our classmate to make sure we're all here at the entrance of the building. na-ra is talking with ae-seol and since the line is separated into two, all of us are required to walk with someone side by side

yu-jeong had to stay at the start of the line as the senior private. while na-ra is going to walk beside ae-seol, she nudged her chin at the boy beside me with a smirk

"you guys should stay together" she said while holding in her laugh, ae-seol joining her too as i groaned

"not you too" i said to ae-seol who smiled

"why not? i've been meaning to say this, but you and su-cheol is a great pair. i really don't understand why you guys broke up"

"i know, right? we are a great pair, indeed" we looked at su-cheol who was grinning, thanking ae-seol for saying such thing. i scoffed and roll my eyes, adjusting the strap of the gun and vest on our uniform

ae-seol and na-ra glanced at us with a smirk, laughing quietly as if i can't hear them. i mouthed a 'shut up and focus' at them, only to be received with another laugh

"you're the one who need to focus, cho-yeong. look, even your helmet is not properly buckled" he said, pointing at the buckle on my helmet that is undone. i glanced down to my chin, realizing that he's right

"let me help" he said with a sigh, smiling lightly at my forgetful self as i slightly tilt my chin upwards. he leaned down a bit yo get a good look on the buckle, carefully connecting them as i stayed silent

i could feel his fingers brushing on my chin as he smiled

"done"

"thanks. i forgot to buckle it" i said, not bothering to acknowledge why na-ra and ae-seol were smirking again. we quickly stand properly, not messing around anymore when the leaders starts to announce our departure

the other classes had went to the shooting range earlier, ours was scheduled for the last session. the gun was starting to make my shoulder sore as i constantly adjust the strap to avoid it from sliding down
