the night ended with a fearful conversation of today's agenda, scared as to what was coming for us soon

"i don't know when the war will end. but just remember this.... survive to the end. i can't end the war for you, but i will help you fight to the end... without anyone getting hurt. i can promise you that"

those were the words chun-ho had said to all of us when ae-seol asked when the war will end

his eyes was fixed on me at the last sentence, as if he was promising me our survival. not just that, but the questions about me being his sister broke out in chatters, a bit chaotic to say the least

they hadn't expected it all, cause all i said about him before was that i knew him as a friend to my aunt, nothing more

but i quickly cleared it out by saying that we had some problems we couldn't solve at the moment. and thankfully, for once, they understood and eventually stopped talking about it

i thought it would be the perfect time to reveal it, seeing as we were getting ready for the deadly mission later. there's no point of hiding anymore, and it gave me even more freedom to treat him differently without the 'lieutenant' title

when will we ever get to bond again if the creatures were all around us?

either of us could die within a second, and i acknowledged the fact. i remembered and reminded myself of it everytime when i could, so that if it actually happened, i would feel less sad or shocked

i don't know if will work, but i'd do anything to make it inevitable

our death

and with that, our mission began with chun-ho announcing of our duties and positions

"squad one, marksman cho jang-soo. assistant marksman, kook yeong-su" his gaze was on the others beside us, lining in four groups as i glanced at su-cheol beside me

he was standing straight and tall, stern and ready for the mission. i looked down, unsure of my capabilities for this heavy duty given to us

will i do a great job? or ended up with death?
