i wasn't thinking of anything else when i started running to the voice, completely ignoring the others. all i wanted was to get to my friend before anything happens

"yu-jeong!" i called out, seeing her getting hugged by ms. park as i froze on my spot. my gaze trailed to the street as i could feel my heart pounding in fear- as if it's going to stop beating when a bloodied hand that was cut off from a body could be seen gripping on the gun in front of us

i could hear my heavy breathing when the others arrived and some started yelling in terror at the sight. their loud yells were muffled out by my ears as i stared at it

too long for it to become a permanent image in my brain

"cho-yeong" i heard su-cheol calling out in rush, pulling me into his chest to cover my eyes. but it's too late, the image of the hand is lingering in my head and i couldn't erase it

"yu-jeong, where is-"

"shh, she's fine" he replied, looking at the hand as i slowly came out from his arms. i could feel my body getting sick at the blood, the weird smell that has been lingering for some while has finally made sense

"yeong, look at me- hey!" he said loudly, trying to pull me from my daze as i stared at the empty street behind him. he started to shake my shoulders, worriedly piercing his gaze into mine

"pull yourself together, yeong" with those words, i pulled myself from my countless thoughts and i looked at his face. he sighed in relief, squeezing my hands as he spoke

"are you okay?" i couldn't answer, everything was too much

the others were throwing each others questions that no one knew the answer to. i tried to control my breathing but the image of the hand came back, haunting my mind

"cho-yeong" na-ra called out, pulling me to her and cupping my face as she spoke

"come on, breath slowly" she said with a low voice, focusing me on her as i followed her breathing. she smiled in relief, watching as i slowly calm down and stopped myself from getting  into shock again
