I slid my hands across the pokéballs. My heart pounded. I could get my License now!

"Thank you so much!"

"It's the least we can do."

But on the flipside, I had another tough choice. Again. Drilbur evolved into Excadrill, a powerful Ground/Steel Pokémon. Mawile was a Basic Steel/Fairy type with no evolutions. Snorunt, a pure Ice type was quite an interesting Pokémon. If a female one was exposed to a Dawn Stone, it would evolve into Froslass, an Ice/Ghost type. If a male one reached a certain point of growth, it would evolve into Glalie, which kept its pure Ice typing. All three of the Pokémon were female, indicated by the symbol sticker on the top of the ball.

I took a deep breath. Whatever Pokémon I chose now, would stick with me for the rest of my life. I decided on Snorunt. Dawn Stones came in plenty in our region, and Froslass had a great Dual-typing. It would no longer be weak to Fighting once it evolved. Besides, Froslass was a rare Pokémon.

I reached out and picked up Snorunt's pokéball.

"So, you chose Snorunt. Good choice."

I snorted. She would have said the exact same thing if I had chosen any of the others.

"If you noticed, there is also a small box next to where the pokéball used to be. Inside it is a pokéball seal of a snowflake, so as to remind you which pokéball contains Snorunt. "

I gratefully picked up the box and opened it. There was a single sticker of a snowflake. I peeled of the female symbol from the pokéball and in its place neatly stuck the seal.

"Is it okay if I let it out?"

"Ah, yes." she exhaled. It has been in the Dream World for a few months, so it should be a tad bit unstable once you let it out, but I'm sure it'll get used to it.

I pressed the button, and the ball opened with a flash of white energy, blindingly bright as the Pokémon materialised. The Snow Hat Pokémon wobbled and fell on its back. It struggled to get back up, then waddled slowly, one leg, or should I say, rounded stump at a time, regaining balance. It walked a few steps, then quickened its pace, only to fall flat on its face. I went over and helped it up. Surprisingly, it wasn't cold to the touch. It helped itself up, then gazed at me with shallow, blue eyes.

"Snorunt, sno?"

"Hi there Snorunt. I'm Synne. I'm your new trainer." I consoled, in a gentle voice.

He tilted his head, then looked around the room.

"Snoo, sno"

"So, do you want to come with me Snorunt?"

She twitched around, with a look of uncertainty on his face, then looked at me, looked at the ground, looked at me again then nodded slowly. He waddled forward, then tilted his head to push the button, and was sucked in, transforming into red energy.
