Seb's POV
I don't know what came over me. I just couldn't let her live in some shelter. She deserves better than that. She needs help.

And I have the space. The spare room was to be for the baby, but since that's not happening anymore, Lenny can just take it.

I found a bag of clothes Chelsea wanted to give away, so Lenny was more than happy to take it.

I walk into work the next day to find Jaxon at my desk. "How's your new roomie?" He asks.

I snatch the coffee out of his hands and glare at him. "Fine."

"She didn't try to kill you in your sleep?" Jaxon questions.

"Lenny isn't a psycho," I mutter.

"She bit me," Jaxon says.

"She was afraid," I argue. "Jaxon I think she's a victim of abuse."

"That's obvious," he says. "Maybe you should get her checked."

"I've already booked an appointment," I murmur. "Tomorrow morning. I was hoping Liv could take her."

"She might," Jaxon says. "Women have been complaining that she has no girlfriends anymore."

"Great," I say. "Just tell her to drop by and I can introduce her to Lenny."

"Is she at your house, by herself?" Jaxon questions.

I nod. "She was still asleep when I left."

"How old is she?" Jaxon asks.

I shrug. "I'm not sure."

Jaxon smirks. "She's cute."

"Dude!" I growl.

"I'm just saying," he laughs. "She could be a great rebound."

I glare at him. "Go back to your desk."

His laughter booms the precinct.

The day was a long one. It was paperwork day. I didn't want to see another bit of paper honestly.

I get home around seven. I walk into the house to this amazing tomato smell. I hear little feet and then Lenny stops in front of me. "Sorry I'm late," I say. "Did you make dinner?"

She nods excitedly. She grabs my arm and pulls me into the kitchen. She had made spaghetti bolognese.

"Smells amazing," I comment. "Thanks."

She shrugs.

"We can sit and eat together if you like," I murmur. She nods and we both grab a plate. I move to the couch and turn on the football game. "I've made a doctor's appointment for you," I say. "Tomorrow morning if that's okay?"

She nods.

"I can't take you," I state. "I have to work, but remember Jaxon. My partner? His fiancé can take you."

She bites her bottom lip and starts moving the pasta on her plate.

"Liv is great," I say. "She's a nurse herself."

She nods her head as if to say okay.

"This is good," I comment. "You like cooking?"

She shrugs.

This is going to be hard.

*
I wake up to a loud thud. I scramble out of bed and race to Lenny's room. I turn the light on and her bed was empty. I could hear her sobbing though.

I get on my hands and knees and spot her under the bed. She was curled in a ball.

"Lenny," I whisper. "You need to come out."

She whimpers and shakes her head.

"It's me, Sebastian," I say. "Your safe with me remember?"

She scrambles out from under the bed and jumps into my arms. I grunt and fall on my ass, as her legs wrap around my waist and her arms wrap around my neck. She sobs into my chest and I rub her back trying to comfort her. I slowly stand up and move her to lie on the bed.

She won't let go of me.

I get into bed with her and I lay with her till she falls asleep. I go to leave but she whimpers and pulls me closer.

"I guess I'm sleeping here," I mutter.

I fall asleep within a few minutes. I missed being able to cuddle someone when I'm sleeping. It felt nice.

I wake up to nobody. I slowly get up and stretch my limbs, just as Lenny walks out of the bathroom in nothing but a towel.

It's when I felt my morning wood pressing against my boxer briefs.

I clear my throat and look away. "Good morning Lenny."

She wouldn't even look at me. I think she was embarrassed.

"I'll go make some breakfast," I say. "It won't be great, but it's something."

She nods.

I walk out of the room and go to my room first for some pants. I then head to the kitchen and make us some scrambled eggs. I put ham and tomato in mine too.

To spice it up a bit.

Lenny walks out of the hallway in a white sunflower dress. I remember that dress vividly.

Chelsea was wearing it the night we met.

I slide the bowl over to Lenny who smiles at me in thanks. Jaxon was right. She's very pretty. Her eyes were very memorable.

A knock at my front door makes me jump out of my daydream. I go over and open it to find Liv.

She looks me up and down. "She is dumb," Liv says. "Who wouldn't want to wake up to that every morning."

I chuckle and let her in. "Good morning Liv."

"Is she in the kitchen?" Liv asks.

"Yeah but don't move just yet," I say. "I'll bring her to you."

Liv nods and stands still. I go back to the kitchen and smile at Lenny. She had already eaten all of her breakfast.

"Liv's here," I state. "I thought it may be good to take you to her."

Lenny nods and stands up. She takes my hand and clutches it tightly. I pull her into the hall where Liv was now organising my junk Mail.

Such an old soul.
