Lenny's POV
I flinch in pain when Seb presses an alcoholic wipe on my bloody knee. Frankie got excited when she saw another dog.

"I told you," Seb says.

I cross my arms and pout. He chuckles and places a Band-Aid over it.

"No need to pout it's all better," he teases.

Ever since he kissed my forehead, I swear we've been like flirting with each other. Also, I've been sleeping in his bed. He made the excellent point that I seem not to have nightmares when I'm in his arms.

Who am I to argue?

"I've been meaning to ask you something actually," Seb says. "This Saturday is Jaxon and Liv's engagement party. I was wondering if you wanted to come?"

Like as his date?

"I mean Liv told me to ask you, but I know you tend to get nervous around new people," he murmurs.

My whole mood deflates. Liv asked him to. I shrug.

"It's up to you, so let me know and I can go get you a dress," he says.

I nod and he stands up kissing my forehead again.

"Want to go out and get some Chinese?" He asks.

I nod and he grabs our coats leading me outside. We walk down the street to the shop on the corner and I stand by the wall as Seb goes up to order.

I look outside at the pretty lights and my face pales as I see who is across the street.

My dad.

I start to shake and tears form in my eyes. He's found me.

"Lenny," I hear. Someone touches my shoulder and in reaction, I punch them in the face. I scramble under a table and hide my face in my knees, sobbing uncontrollably. I hear the doorbell jingle and then his sick twisted voice.

"That's my daughter," he growls. "I've been looking for her."

Don't let him hurt me, don't let him hurt me.

"Get away from her," Seb growls.

"Who are you?"

"A detective with the LAPD," Seb snaps. "So I suggest you leave."

"I don't like what your insinuating," Dad growls.

I hear a thud and my dad grunts. "Don't test me," Seb growls. I hear the door open again and then it slams shut. "Lenny," Seb says. "Look at me."

I lift my head and see dry blood by Seb's nose. Shit, I punched him.

"You're safe with me," he whispers.

I shake my head. He found me

"He can't hurt you anymore," Seb whispers. "We will go down to the station and get a restraining order okay? If he breaks that I can throw his ass in jail, just like how I threw his ass out on the curb."

I shake my head again.

"Do you trust me?" Seb asks. I nod. "Then when I tell you you're safe, your safe okay?"

He holds out his hand and I take it. He pulls me out from underneath the table and I hide myself in his chest when I see everybody staring. The waitress brings our food to us and then we leave.

My dad was nowhere in sight.

*
I suck in a breath when Liv pulls the zip up. "Oh honey this is your colour," she announces.

I raise a questioning eyebrow at her

I raise a questioning eyebrow at her. Are you sure?

"I don't lie," she deadpans. "Plus it's not so fancy that you look better than me."

I giggle and shake my head.

She curls my hair too and assesses what jewellery was best before putting me in front of a mirror.

Woah. This was a whole new Leena. A confident Leena.

I smile. I finally feel beautiful.

"Now let's go meet the boys in the hotel lobby," Liv says. "Man Jaxon isn't gonna be able to keep his hands off me."

She takes my hand in hers and leads me to the elevators. She put me in wedged boots to get used to the idea of wearing heels.

The elevator makes that dinging noise and then the doors open. I look up and my eyes land on Sebastian immediately. He looked at me in awe.

He looks handsome. He wore a dark blue suit with a black tie and his slacks snuggled to him perfectly.

We walk up to them and Liv lets go of me as Jaxon takes her in his arms.

"You look beautiful," Sebastian whispers.

I blush.

He holds out his hand and I take it and squeeze it. The four of us walk into the hall and I look around in awe. Liv does have good taste.

"Wanna drink?" Sebastian asks.

I smile at him.

"I meant a soda drink," he huffs.

I nod and he leans down kissing my cheek. A little gasp escapes me and he walks away. I make eye contact with Liv who makes smooching faces at me.

I swear I'm older than her sometimes.

Sebastian walks back over and hands me a glass of raspberry soda. "Do you want to meet some people?" He asks.

I nod. I'm confident in Leena today.

Sebastian and I walk around for the next half hour and he introduces me to everybody. I think people liked me. They were very nice. I can imagine that Liv and Jaxon wouldn't hang out with bad people.

We were talking with their parents when I look over Sebastian's shoulder and see his old rude friend Colin. With a pregnant lady which I assume is Seb's ex-wife. I tap Seb's shoulder hurriedly. "What?" He asks. I point to them. He turns around and swears under his breath. "Are you fucking kidding me?" He hisses.

"Something the matter, Sebastian?" Jaxon's mother Meredith asks.

"Uh my ex-wife is here," he says, cringing.

"Chelsea was invited?" Barry, Liv's dad questions.

"Not that I was aware of," Seb grumbles. He takes my hand and pulls me to Jaxon and Liv who were flirting in the corner. "You two better start talking," Seb growls, his eyes moving to Colin and Chelsea.

"What the fuck is she doing here?" Liv growls.

"That's what I want to know," Seb snaps. I flinch and he takes a calming breath for me.

I feel like this is all about to blow.
