"Earth to Gena" Dana waved her hand in front of her friend's face.

Gena blinked, returning her focus to Dana who was staring at her weirdly. "Yes."

"Where did you drop your head? I've been talking to you for hours now."

"You were salivating over your menu." Gena placed her palm under her jaw. "I just got lost in my head while I was waiting for you to finally pick something."

"You don't have to be mean when you communicate, this is the reason you have a few friends who tolerate you by the way."

"I'll thankfully boot you out of my limited space if you don't want to be there."

"Sheesh!" Dana placed a hand over her heart. "What put your panties in a twist?"

Genaëlle stared out the window watching random people pass by, unsure why she was unsettled. Dana had dragged her out of the house saying she had been cooped up in her office for days. And of all places she chose the diner.

"Don't look over your shoulder, Amelia is walking towards us." Dana pinned her aloof friend with a stern look. "Be nice."

"Hello Dana." Amelia smiled at Dana completely ignoring the other woman seated opposite her. "Can't you find something that'd arrest your taste buds? My chefs are literally shaking in their aprons, waiting for your order."

Dana blushed, "I didn't know I'd caused such an uproar in house, I guess I'm indecisive about what to pick and Gena won't help me."

Amelia hummed, leaning over Dana's chair so they were cheek to cheek, she glanced over the menu she probably knew off by heart, hovering a manicured finger on an option. "You should try this, it's my latest addition, I guarantee a watery mouthgasm."

Gena didn't even need to look at her friend to know she was sold in on the idea, her gaze instead was settled on Amelia who refused to look at her, and for some odd reason it irked her. "Hey Amelia."

"Hello." Gone was the warmth she was used to and in its place frosty ice.

"I'm having issues with what to pick." Gena pushed on, freezing in the depths of her cold stare

Amelia waved a waiter over. "She's one of my best, I'll leave it to her to attend to whatever you might need. Another table needs my attention."

Gena followed Amelia with her eyes, leaving Dana to place the orders. Amelia laughed at something someone said, allowing him lean close enough to whisper in her ears and probably catch a whiff of her perfume.

Gena didn't care- infact she shouldn't, yet there she was stalking a woman she'd left while she was asleep and never bothered to text or call.

"You've got that primal look on your face. Is someone encroaching on your property?" Dana looked over her shoulder. "Can't deny the fact that she looks sumptuous, who wouldn't want to make Amelia laugh with a stupid joke?"

"Definitely not me." Gena had a wolfish grin on her face. "He doesn't stand a chance."

"Might as well piss on her to stake your claim." Dana rolled her eyes. "You can be such a guy sometimes. I'm being a good friend by not giving you hell over leaving such a woman."

Gena shrugged. "It was just casual sex."

"For who?"

Gena huffed, finding Amelia with her eyes again; feeling somewhat insecure about the answers flying over her head. For who indeed.

Amelia made it her goal to be a well seen host. Moving from table to table, sashaying her hips from side to side, Gena was obviously not the only one who noticed, several heads turned everywhere she went, raising the heat in the well conditioned area. Men and women alike fed their eyes with the meal exposing one delicious side after the other.
