"RICKY OVER HERE!" someone yelled from the right side of the cafeteria.
i turned around and saw hanbin standing up and gesturing towards our lunch table. i walked over and took the last seat, which was next to gunwook.
"are you guys ready for our first game next week?" jiwoong excitedly asked, referring to our first basketball game of the season.
"yes sir!" yujin laughed.
"we have to be careful this year! no injuries!" taerae reminded, looking towards gyuvin.
gyuvin awkwardly laughed looking down at his previously broken wrist.
"how are everyone's new classes?" hao asked.
"great actually, yujin and i are seat partners!" hanbin exclaimed.
"meh, my teacher is so annoying. my seat isn't so bad though" taerae commented.
"my teacher is ms. kang" gunwook said.
"oh my god you're so lucky! she's supposed to be the nicest teacher in the entire school! apparently no tests..." yujin complained.
"NO I'M EXTREMELY UNLUCKY! YOU KNOW WHO IS NOT IN MY CLASS!" gunwook whined.
the other seven boys rolled their eyes.
"your lifelong crush, kim sunhee?" jiwoong asked, knowing the answer already.
"SHHHHH! she's right there!" gunwook said in a whisper.
everyone sighed as he looked at the girl across the cafeteria longingly.
"ricky, why are you so quiet? who's your seat partner?" hao asked me.
"oh i was just listening to your chaos. i sit next to some random girl i don't know. i think her name is like...minnie? i don't remember" i responded.
the boys nodded as gunwook gasped loudly.
"yOu mEaN hAn MiNji?!" gunwook asked.
"uh yeah i think so"
"are you finally over sunhee?!" hanbin asked with wide eyes.
"NO NEVER! han minji is sunhee's best friend!"
"oh...okay?"
we all turned towards each other and changed the topic.
"have you watched the new episode of the adventures of hello kitty and friends?! it was so cute!!" yujin exclaimed.
"omg yes!! it was so good!" gyuvin cheered.
"hello kitty looks like hanbin, not gonna lie" hao commented.
"you think so?" hanbin questioned.
everyone nodded in agreement, except for gunwook, whose mind was in another world. gunwook suddenly gasped loudly.
"what is it now??" jiwoong asked.
"i have a genius idea!" gunwook exclaimed.
"what is it?" hao sighed as we all looked over at gunwook.
"ricky should become friends with minji!"
i looked over at gunwook and said, "why would i do that?!"
"becauseeeee, i need to become closer to sunhee and this is my only chance!" gunwook said with puppy eyes.
"no"
"pleaseeee! i'll give you 20 bucks"
