i picked up my phone and the lock screen lit up. in front of the photo of sunhee and i, it showed 7:58pm. i sat on the couch wearing a pair of jeans and an oversized tshirt.
where is sunhee with gunwook this late?? at least she isn't here to make a big deal out of this...
i snapped out of my thoughts as i heard a knock on the door. i stood up and opened the door to reveal none other than shen ricky.
"you're on time" i commented, pretending to be surprised.
"only for my favorite girl" he responded with a wink.
i stared at him blankly in disgust.
"i'm kidding i'm kidding" he laughed, "you should've seen the look on your face!!"
"please don't say that ever again"
"okay love"
"YOU KNOW WHAT i can go back inside"
"fine i'll stop FOR NOW"
"whatever let's go"
the streets were covered in darkness, illuminated only by the soft glow of streetlights. we walked side by side along a path, our breath visible in the cool night air.
"nobody's out now, looks like we're the only people outside." i said.
"yeah, most people are probably cooped up in their rooms studying for the exams. maybe a few people will be studying in the café." ricky responded.
"are you saying that we're bad students for not studying right now??"
"NO i'm saying that we're just that good that we don't even need to study for the exams because we're gonna ace it either way"
"yeah right...."
"anyways, we're here" ricky said as we approached a small café with fairy lights bordering the edges of the roof.
a small bell rang as we walked through the door and were greeted by the workers. we stood in front of the menu, scanning for the best options.
"you're paying??" i asked hopefully.
"yeah fine" ricky replied.
"yayyy i'm going to order everything on the menu"
"go ahead"
"NO NO JUST KIDDING"
"you can if you want, it's really fine"
"what?! are you made of money?"
"something like that"
i rolled my eyes as i continued reading the menu.
"i'll get a strawberry latte" we both said in unison.
ricky and i looked at each other shocked.
"okay, two strawberry lattes. will that be all?" the cashier chuckled.
"yes" ricky answered as he pulled out his card.
i stood with my mouth agape as he took out a black card.
"who did you steal that from??" i asked ricky, not believing my eyes.
"it's mine"
"no it's not"
