The group was gathered around to discuss what Mindy called 'our survival plan'. Madi thought this was straight bull.

"Okay, nerds listen up, as terrifying as this all is. I'm actually glad I get a change to redeem myself, for not calling the killers last time. It's fine. Okay, the way I see it someone is out to make a sequel to the requel." Mindy announced to the group, who all just got out l of class. Madison sat next to Chad, who was in-between Tara and Madi. "Uhm, what a requel?" Anika asked her girlfriend, if only she was there for the long talk about requels last year. Madison gaze never left Anika, she wouldn't be the reason she gets caught. "Your beautiful, sweetie. Let's hold questions til the end." Mindy replied.

"Stab one took place in Woodsboro, stab two took place in college." Sam let out, it was all her fault this was happening for killing Richie."Do we think that the killer is trying to copy the movies?" Tara asked not saving her questions til the end.

"That is one possibility. Hero's now in college, check. Suspicious new characters brought in to round out the suspect list, and or body count, check, check, and check." Mindy pointed at the three new characters, two of which were the killers. "I don't like this." Ethan uttered nervously.

"It can't just be about stab two." Mindy told the group, Madi the only one not caring since she already knew everything. "Why not?" Tara asked.
"It would make sense if this were just a sequel, but we're not in a sequel, because nobody just makes sequels anymore. We're in a franchise! And there can certain rules to a continuing franchise." Mindy sounded very enthusiastic about beefing with killers in mask. "I had a feeling." Anika mumbled, everyone now already bored.

"Rule one, everything is bigger than last time. Bigger budget, bigger cast, bigger body count, longer chases, shootouts, beheadings. You got to top what came before to keep people coming back." Mindy explained which by the help of Madi the body count would in fact be bigger. "Beheadings?" Chad questioned looking up from his homework.

"Beheadings. Rule two, whatever happened last time, expect the opposite. Franchise only survive by subverting expectations. If the killers last time were whiny snowflake film nerds with letterboxed accounts instead of personalities, you can bet the opposite will be true here. And rule three, no one is safe. Legacy characters, cannon fire at this point, usually brought back only to be killed off in some cheap bid for nostalgia. It's not looking too good for Gale, Kirby. Oh and that's not even the worst part." Mindy got cut off by her twin brother. "This is the part where she tells us the worst part." Chad muttered poking Madison with the end of his pencil.

"The worst part is franchises are just continuing episodic installments designed to boost an IP. Which means main characters are completely expendable now too. Laurie Strode, Nancy Thompson, Ellen Ripley, Sally Hardesty, Jigsaw, Tony Shark, James Bond, I mean, even Luke Skywalker all died so there franchises could live on. That means it's not just a friend group, any of us could go, anytime, especially Sam and Tara." Mindy named off a lot of examples, scaring Sam and Tara.

"Wait, any of us?" Ethan let out acting scared"Yeah."
"Am, am I in the friend group?" Ethan asked another dumb question. "Yeah." Mindy said again. "Am I, like, one of the targets? Am I gonna die a virgin?" Ethan looked actually scared of dying a virgin, giving Madison deja vu of Wes. She loved that son of a bitch, he would never treat her like this.

"That was a weird overshare, but it brings us to our current suspects. Ethan, the shy dorky guy who one suspects because he's so shy and dorky." Mindy walked close to Ethan, so far she's 1/1. "Oh, okay, uhm, why am I on the suspect list? Because I'm randomly Chads roommate?" A very confused Ethan questioned. "Roommate lottery's can be juked, you could've fixed it to get next to us." Mindy knew exactly what he had done, she is a very smart woman.

"Quinn, the slutty roommate a horror movie classic."Mindy moved on to her next suspect, 2/2 only one left is Madison."Sex positive, but thank you." Quinn slightly smiled, reminding Madison of her old self. "Mmm hmm, how did you come to live with Sam and Tara?" Mindy wondered getting closer to Quinn. "I answered their ad online." Quinn told her looking extremely uncomfortable."Okay, say no more. You've already implicated yourself enough." Mindy shushed her right up.

"It was an anonymous ad, Mindy, and y'know we vetted her. Plus her dad is a cop." Tara stuck up for her roomie Quinn. "And that makes it even more likely that she's the killer because having a cop dad is a great cover. Do you not remember how these movie work, Tara?!" Mindy shouted at Tara scaring people walking next to them. "Is she always like this?" Quinn wonder while Mindy walked over to her next suspect, fingers crossed it's not Madi.

"And Anika, never trust the love interest." Mindy blew her a kiss, then said she could be a killer. "Okay so, we have our rules, and we have our suspects." Sam tried to move on the conversation but the three suspects weren't about to let that slide.

"Wait, wait, what about you guys?" Ethan asked looking pointedly at Madison, could he be anymore obvious? "I mean, i thinks it's pretty safe to rule out the five of us, who went through this last year in Woodsboro." Mindy looked in turn the four other survivors. "Agreed." Chad mumbled.

"Uhm, not agreed. What if the trauma you all went through caused one or more of you to snap?" Quinn asked basically saying partly why Madison did it, she snapped. "Yeah, or the fame you got from the killings made you thirsty for more. I mean let's be honest here, some of the theories online about Sam are.." Ethan added on, also Madi was the fan favorite but you can always get more followers."Don't you fucking dare." Tara demanded shutting Ethan up.
"Okay? She's right, though I mean face facts. If we're all suspects, you're all suspects." Anika playing with her hands to avoid Madison sharp gaze.

"Y'know who we haven't heard talk once, Madison. Hiding something? Or just thinking?" Mindy made everyone look over at Madison, oh shit. "Mindy, really? Last year you did the same thing, and surprise, surprise you were wrong." Madi calmly reminded Mindy."I'm not wrong this time I know it." Mindy was right and wrong at the same time, 2/3 killers guessed correctly. "Really? Cause according to your own rules, your wrong." Madison laughed to herself. "What do you mean?" Mindy Meek Martin bit her lip at the thought of Madi being right and her being wrong.

"Expect the opposite? Last year the killers were Richie and Amber. Richie a weird socially awkward nerd, like Ethan. Amber, likes older guys and sex, Quinn. I don't know about Anika though." Madison explained venom in her voice, trying to make Quinn and Ethan seem innocent. In her defense they really hadn't done anything yet.

"There still at the top of my list." Mindy uttered after fixing her shirt. "Think what you want, but I better be towards the bottom." Madison winked at her friend. "You are, for now." Mindy told her, smiling at her friend.

"Madi wouldn't do that." Chad stuck up for Madison against his own sister, making Madison's heart drop.
