"What's our earliest memory together?"
Whenever Wynter and Trent did interviews together they were normally based on football or football and their relationship, with their relationship always being the shadow topic of discussion. This time, however, it was their relationship put on the forefront, with football as the supporting topic.
After reading the prompt Trent turned to Wynter, who was already looking at him. Together, the two shared looks of reminiscence and recollection through their smiles; there was no need to check when the moment in question was already in mind.
Coming inside from training there was a mixture of thanks, thank you or sorry Winnie said paired with laughter as the players dropped their shoes by Wynter so she could clean them, mumbles of whatever coming from the new edition to the club.
One thing Wynter had to get used to while being at Liverpool was the team's bets. They were frequent, constant and she had yet to not fall victim to them. On this day, losing the bet gave her the task of cleaning her teammates' boots. However, she didn't mind it too much– if no one chose to bug her then it provided her with some time in peace and quiet away from the chaos carried by her teammates.
"You need any help?" Humming, she looked to her right and noticed Trent standing by her side.
"Uh... no," she said, tilting her head confused. She had thought that everyone had left the boots room already. Clearly not, of course. "Thanks, Trent but I think I'm good. Won't take me longer than five minutes."
"You sure?" He asked, his gaze moving between Wynter and the boots.
"Yes, I'm good Trent, really," she nodded towards where their teammates were, waving him away. "Now go join the rest."
Going back to rinsing the boots clean she expected Trent to drift away, probably finding Andy or something of that sort. Though Wynter thought wrong. Instead, Trent decided to pick up a boot and join his teammate with the task.
Her eyes narrowed as she placed a hand on her hip. "Are you really going to pick that up after I just said not to?" However, her ask received no response as Trent continued with the task as if he couldn't hear her.
Initially, Wynter was annoyed. This was supposed to be her time of peace and quiet away from her teammates and somehow, one of them decided to interrupt it unannounced for some unknown reason to her.
Soon Wynter accepted that she couldn't have her peace and quiet—instead sharing it with Trent. 'Cause she found herself easing into his company. He said something, nothing obscure or special yet she began to laugh, and she then responded, thereby creating the conversation. It wasn't different to any conversation that they had shared in recent days. But it was a genuine conversation, one that lacked purpose but fulfilled both of their moods for the day.
That was the first time Trent had helped Wynter. And every other time she would lose a bet, he was always there helping her to complete the task given.
"I feel like I should've known that you were feeling me," Wynter mentioned as she turned to Trent.
Trent tilted his head, his smile running deeper. "Oh yeah?"
