the aesthetic value of your emotions pt. 2

[continuation of FOURTEEN in IMBALANCE]

Walking towards the lineups, Wynter assumed that most of her teammates and the England NT boys would've mustered up some maturity after the previous display. She and Trent kissed, sure—and even she had some problems letting it go—but they had a match to prepare for.

Though both teams seemed to have other ideas in mind. The comments, the questions, and the jokes; from both teams did the players find enjoyment from instigating a situation that both players hoped to shield from the prying eyes of everyone beyond the walls of the stadium.

"Some guys work hard but Trent moves smart, guys!" Kyle said as he clapped a hand on Trent's back. "Take notes while you still can."

"Can we not right now?" Wiping his hands over his face, Trent let out a small huff. It was crazy how the voices of his teammates growing louder could cause him some major fatigue. He released himself from Kyle's grip. "It's really unnecessary, guys."

He understood that these were his teammates and he expected no less than what they offered. Their way of hyping him up—Trent appreciated their efforts, knowing that his friends wanted the best for him. He just wished it all was at the expense of neither his nor Wynter's embarrassment. Not to mention, was there a legitimate reason for his potential, romantic life to be on blast for everyone to have their take on so early?

Trent shrugging off his teammates only brought upon a few of Wynter's teammates, causing the french player to plant her face in Trent's shoulder. "Oh my, God! Winnie has a boyfriend now!" Presnel exclaimed as he approached her with Antoine and Paul. "I told you guys this would happen."

She lifted her face from Trent's shoulder. "There's no need to put it out there." Shaking her head, she glanced at her teammates with stern eyes. Though it didn't seem like they caught onto what she was trying to throw in their direction. It's not like she didn't want her teammates to know about her liking for Trent. She was going to (maybe) tell them eventually. It's more the fact that she didn't want another player questioning her current status with Trent seeing their recent relationship perished not too long ago.

Paul laughed as he patted Wynter's head with his taller frame. "Yes, there is. You've moved on so fast." Her eyes fell wide. "Oh, relax yourself! No one heard me." But someone did. Paul followed her eye line to be met with Kylian glancing at the group, particularly Wynter and Trent's open display of affection with a blank expression. Paul turned back to his teammate with his lips parted to form an o shape, covering his mouth to hold back another laugh. "But he did. Sorry, Winnie."

"Is he alright?" Trent asked, referring to Kylian who had wandered off without giving his teammate a chance to speak.

"Yeah, I guess," Wynter huffed slowly, watching Kylian's figure fall out of her eye line. She didn't know what to do. "I just got to. . . actually, nevermind."

Despite Wynter and Kylian ending their wandering relationship on a rather mutual note, she caught onto the belief that he wasn't too on board with the idea of her moving on from him so fast while he had yet to find someone. And quite frankly, she couldn't blame him. She left Paris making Kylian believe that a long-distance relationship was in the works only to come back to the first international break to say that she had fallen out of love with him; he had quickly been replaced by someone else.

Their relationship didn't begin during the World Cup, rather stretching back for over a year. Though the intimate element of one's ordinary relationship hadn't been embedded, the spark between the two was surely there and evident to those around them. And so when it was announced that Wynter wasn't going to be stationed in France, many in their inner circle fell saddened at the fact that Wynter and Kylian couldn't end up together after all these years of the two unknowingly forming a relationship.
