Small Talk

     After they got rescued and Historia was crowned queen, the Scouts had a celebration to enjoy their victory against the Military Police. There was lots of meats to go around as well. Of course, Sasha was going out of control with it, but Eren and Connie knocked her out before she could eat it all. After that was taken care of, Eren stepped outside to get some fresh air, and saw Katsuki standing outside as well.

Katsuki: "Hey, Eren."

Eren: "Katsuki? What the hell are you doing out here?"

Katsuki: "Just figured I'd get some air. You thought of the same idea?"

Eren: "As if I'd tell you anything."

Katsuki: "Relax, I'm not in the mood to fight this time. Besides, both of us are exhausted after that unexpected outcome. Just come on over here and crash for a bit."

Eren: "Whatever."

     Eren then sat down next to Katsuki, and an awkward moment of silence was made until 1 of them finally spoke up.

Katsuki: "Hey, Eren?"

Eren: "Hm?"

Katsuki: "Do you remember back when we were 5 years old and we slowly started getting to know each other?"

     Eren then remembered all the times they spent together until the moment he was left alone in the forest while crying, and tries to control his anger when he answered.

Eren: "How could I forget? It took us at least 6 months of feeling a close bond. However, you got your quirk and abandoned me in the forest."

Katsuki: "Honestly, that's when I realized I made a big mistake."

Eren: "Oh, ya think?"

Katsuki: "Eren, I really do want to make things right. I'm willing to take any risk if it means that you'll forgive me."

Eren: "Well, you've got 10 years of Hell you put on me. It might take that long in order for me to forgive you."

Katsuki: "I'll take my chances with that."

Eren: "You better hope you're prepared for anything that gets in your way when that happens."

Katsuki: "I am."

Eren: "Just don't expect anything else until it does occur."

Katsuki: "That's fine by me."

     There was a quick moment of silence until Eren finally spoke up while trying to stay calm.

Eren: "Hey, Katsuki?"

Katsuki: "Hm?"

Eren: "What made you really want to come back for me?"

     Katsuki then paused for a moment before he could give an answer to Eren.

Katsuki: "I guess you could say that I really missed you."

Eren: "Huh? Seriously? I mean, not that I actually care, but seriously?"

Katsuki: "Well, yeah; After I left, I started to feel guilty about everything that I've done. So, I came back hoping that I could make things right."

Eren: "Is that so?"

Katsuki: "Yeah, and I'm serious about it."

Eren: "Look, I just don't know, okay? I want to after you got me out of the cave, but something's preventing me to."

Katsuki: "Try not to let it get the best of you."

Eren: "Sure."

     Both of them stopped talking for a few seconds before Katsuki spoke up again.

Katsuki: "'Actions speak louder than words'."

Eren: "Huh? The hell does that mean?"

Katsuki: "It means I'll show by my actions on the battlefield in a few days from now that I want to make things right with you and start over. No matter how long it takes, I won't stop until I've earned your forgiveness and not be enemies anymore."

Eren: "You really think so, Katsuki?"

Katsuki: "Not just think, Eren; I know."

     They both then gazed into each other's eyes for long moment and soon felt relaxed. Sadly, their moment wouldn't last for very long and it was time to go back inside.

Katsuki: "C'mon, we better get back before the others find out we were gone for too long."

Eren: "Yeah, good idea; The last thing that I want is to get scolded by the captain with extra cleaning around the cabin."

     After they finally had their calm talk, both boys returned to the bunkers, and got in their own beds to get some sleep.

Katsuki: "See ya in the morning, Eren."

Eren: "Whatever."

     Katsuki then turned off the lamp, and both boys started to sleep. But, Katsuki was still awake thinking about Eren.

Katsuki: "(Man, Eren's really going through a hard time right now. I gotta find some way on how I can make up for all the bad shit I did to him. I don't know how, but Eren's got a hold on me. His fierce determination, his confident personality, the way he never gives up hope for Humanity, not to mention his soft brown hair, smooth skin, and shining jade green eyes...)"

     However, he soon realized what he was thinking and began to blush red.

Katsuki: "(Wait a minute! What the hell am I thinking!? How did that Suicidal Manic get on my mind consistently!? Damnit! Maybe I'll figure it out later.)"

     After he had his moment of thinking, Katsuki turned off the lights, laid back in his bed, and got some sleep. However, Eren was up a little longer thinking about what Katsuki said to him earlier, and he couldn't help but feel calmer than before around him.

Eren: "(Katsuki, he's got some nerve showing up out of nowhere trying to hurt me again. I can't believe him; But then, why did he come back to save me? Does he really miss me that much. I don't know how, but Katsuki has a tight grip on me in some way. His wild pride, his fearless personality, not to mention his smooth skin, soft blonde hair, and glowing red eyes...)"

     However, he realized what he was thinking and blushed red.

Eren: "(WAIT A MINUTE! WHAT THE HELL AM I THINKING!? WHY THE HELL DO I EVEN CARE ABOUT HIM NOW!? HE'S AN ASSHOLE WHO BETRAYED AND ABANDONED ME YEARS AGO AFTER HE GOT HIS QUIRK! Damnit! Maybe I'll figure it out later after we retake Wall Maria.)"

     After he had his thoughts sorted out, Eren slowly closed his eyes and got some sleep.
