A breeze blew a familiar scent in Vin's direction. Vin took a whiff, it was the distinct odor of Barax. Fueled by hope, Vin scurried in the direction of that scent. More signs of Barax's path through the forest were revealed. Vin found his obvious paw prints, along with severely disturbed tree bark and clawed up roots.
There must have been some emergency that led him to leave without me. Poor guy, he's likely inconsolable because I'm not with him.
He's a slowpoke, he couldn't have gotten far.Nose to the ground, he carried on tracking all the clues Barax left behind. He halted when he caught the sound of sloppy chewing noises. The scent of Barax and something else was potent, he's close by.
Without further hesitation, Vin crashed through the remaining foliage. He hooted with glee when Barax came into view. He was eating a dead deer, muzzle-deep into the deer's stomach to reach the tasty organs. Blood painted on his jaws and snout. Vin arrived in front of the feasting bear. His expression full of exuberance.
"I made it just in time. I'm famished!"Barax disengaged his face from the deer's innards. His countenance morphed into sheer fury. Opening his gaping maw he let out the loudest roar his lungs would allow, directly in Vin's face. It sounded prehistoric. The volume could shatter ear drums. Barax's jowls undulated with the sound. Spittle flew in every direction.
Vin inspected the inside of Barax's mouth with amazement, as the bear's hot breath bombarded him.
Once the roar diminished to a grumble. Barax seethed, grinding his teeth. Keeping his murderous eyes on the oblivious weasel.
"Barax! That was impressive! I'll give that a score of 10 out of 10. No, make that higher." Vin was completely unfazed. His cheerful mood after reuniting with Barax couldn't be knocked down.
"Hey, can we cook the deer over a fire? It's a great deal more delicious that way."The bear's expression became a shade darker.
" Ok, ok, I'll be having it raw then." A string of giggles followed after this statement.
Barax shoved his face back into the disemboweled deer. Vin chose a leg to gnaw and chew on.

As the day progresses, Barax continued his plodding walk.
Vin began an unorthodox scatting and jerky dance movements while on Barax's backside. Too engrossed in his flailing, he didn't notice Barax's body tense up.
"Doo do doo Da Dum dum da dee doo. Ba dum ba Dee, dee dee ba doo!""STOP THAT!!" Birds flew out of tree tops in fear. Barax's voice echoed throughout the canopy.
Vin sat down with a pout. "Fine, you grumpy bear. Party pooper."
Geez, this bear needs to lighten up. Don't know what's up his big, round, brown bodacious bottom. Maybe if I cleaned him up a bit, he'd feel happier.
He moved about on Barax's backside, pulling and kicking the clods of dirt out of his fur. Then he ran his fingers through each area of fur until it was neat and tidy.
"You have a lovely coat of fur, you should groom it more. I love the distinguished look of salt and pepper, all your grey and white fur blends in perfectly with the brown."As Vin moved across Barax's body , administering his expert touch. He came across a round circular object embedded next to Barax's left ear. The object didn't want to budge. It took a lot of tugging and prying to get it to release. He turned it over in his palm.
What is this thing?
It moved.
"Aaaaaaaaaaa!!! It's alive!" He hurled it into a dense thicket.Vin leapt off of Barax and wiped his palms on the leafy ground.
"Ugh, That. Was Nasty!"Vin declared the make-over complete after he fluffed up Barax's chest fur. For a split second a touch of softness was displayed on Barax's face.
Vin checked out the transformed bear. "Mmmhmm. You look Marvelous! Now. How about a Happy Ending?"
"What!?" Barax snarled.

As the night set, Barax's body lay sprawled on the ground. His chest rising and falling, obscenely loud snores erupted out of him intermittently.
Vin sat with the upper half of his body propped up on Barax's stomach. The belly so cushy and warm, Vin smiled in contentment. A mild breeze rustled the leaves up in the tree tops. The babbling water of a river close by. Crickets chirped their lulling song. Vin's eyes drooped. Drooped.

A chill awoke Vin, his eyes ambushed by the sunlight. The comforting warmth of the bear was missing. Barax isn't seen anywhere nearby.
No. Not again.
