After trekking a fair distance away from the Marketplace, Vin decided on a well deserved break. He released Giblet onto the ground.
"I can't tell if that's thunder or sounds of cymbals you're making. Sounds as if you're in a bad mood. I'm frustrated too. Those folks were no help. You don't promise a guy a good time only to yank it away from him. "Vin worked his fingers through his fur, attempting to rid himself of Giblet's ooze he was covered in.
Oh, I see it crumbles away after it's dried. What a fascinating substance. Where does Giblet store all of it?Once his grooming session was completed, he pulled out the apple he had purchased out of his pouch. He chomped into the juicy fruit.
"Mmmmmmmm.." smacking his lips he saw Giblet's googly eyes boring into his soul.
"Are you hungry? Do you want some? Do you eat at all? How do you eat? Through osmosis?"Vin bounced on his toes as his brain churned out ideas on how Giblet could take in and digest food. "Is it a magic act? AlA Kazam! And the food disappears? Maybe you have a stomach or something in the center of you."
Vin forcefully dove his arm and hand right into Giblet's floof and started rooting around.
A loud "ahhhh OooooGahhh!" escaped Giblet upon the intrusion.
Vin pulled his arm out, shocked that his arm was clean. No slime, nothing.
"There's nothing in you. No innards. Nothing. Just Fluff. How do you function? What keeps you going?" Vin continued scrutinizing the green ball. "Giblet, you are a mystery. I love that about you." Vin squeezed and planted a kiss on Giblet.A horrific sound startled Vin, he jumped five feet in the air. "What was that!? I'm so startled, I'm losing fur." The obnoxious noise sounded again, this time making Vin's fur bristle.
"Is that what is sounds like right before a seismic earthquake? We must check it out." Vin scooped up Giblet. Giblet made a noise Vin didn't recognize (death of Pac-Man) the ominous tone of it didn't slip by him. His spark of curiosity already took over his actions.A gust of hot air knocked Vin off his feet, the action made him lose his grip on Giblet. Thankfully, Giblet wasn't marred by the accidental drop. The hot air blast was soon accompanied by the seismic sound Vin had been trailing.
Vin slowly lifted his head to take a gander at the humongous, spectacular creature before him. His eyes widened, nearly popping from their sockets. A dragon. In front of him lay a slumbering dragon. It's scales an iridescent blue. Leathery wings folded at its side. Large triangle shaped scales stood up in a row across its neck and back. Tail wrapped around its body, the tip nestled by its snout.
Which each breath, an unearthly snore billowed out of the snout along with a gale force of hot hair.A dragon! I've heard stories about how rare they are. And I've found one! I thought Barax was large. Compared to THIS, Barax is minuscule. I want to keep it forever. We'll be best friends. I wonder if it can talk? I'm sure it won't mind waking up to meet me.
"You stay here Giblet. I have a dragon to woo."
Vin sauntered up to the dragon's snout. He licked the palm of his hand and slicked back the fur on his head. "Hello Madam or Sir dragon... I'm sorry forgive my inability to distinguish if you're a gentleman or lady dragon. I have arrived to sweep you off your feet." The dragon didn't stir. "Hmm maybe you can't hear me. I'll move closer your ears."
Vin failed to notice that the dragon's snoring had ceased. It's eyelids opened a crack, revealing slit-like pupils inside golden orbs.
Climbing the dragon was a breeze. Vin used the scales to gain purchase and hoist himself up. Until he sat atop the base of the dragon's neck.
"I think I'm closer to your ears. Although, I don't know what they look like or where they are. I'll talk louder." He cleared his throat in a disgusting manner.
"I know there's a clear size difference between us! That doesn't mean us having relations is impossible! It can work! I have ways of making it work! I'm versatile when it comes to coitus!"
A deep growl rumbled out of the giant dragon, sounding like it originated from the depths of underground. Steam billowed out of its nostrils. It rose it's head up, elongating the neck above the tree tops. The dragon's body lifted even higher as it stood up upon its feet.
The action made Vin's stomach feel like it was sinking. It was an exhilarating sensation. The view of the treetops and the wide expanse of land around him made Vin's jaw drop.
I didn't realize the World was so Big. It looks like it keeps going. Unending. There is so much for me to see and find. First thing I need to find is a tavern with a plethora of ale.A loud whooshing sound jarred Vin out of his thoughts. The dragon had opened up and spread it's giant wings. Beating them up and down in a rhythmic pattern. The dragon didn't seem concerned that many trees were smacked and crushed to the ground by its massive wings.
All vin could do was hang on tightly as he felt the ground drop when they became airborne. His adrenaline pumped as wind whipped through his fur.
"Hey!! Can you take me to a tavern?! " Vin hollered. "Do you understand me!? Can you talk!?"The dragon released an ear piercing shriek, then maneuvered its body until it was flying upside down.
Once again, Vin was oblivious to the fact that the shriek was a warning and shifting upside down was an attempt to dislodge and rid of him.
Vin kept a death grip on one of the triangular scales along it's neck. He watched his feet dangle unsupported in mid air. Vin was enjoying every second of it.
"This is awesome!!! Woooooo oooooooo!! Yeaaaaahhh!! Woooooooooo!!"The dragon snorted in full irritation . It switched tactics and dove itself back towards the ground. Vin's grip didn't falter.
Crashing and knocking down many trees, the dragon forcefully landed. It created craters in the Earth with it's clawed feet.
"Is there a Tavern close by?" Vin slid off the dragon's neck to investigate. He remarkably landed on his feet despite the steep drop.
As soon as Vin detached from the dragon, it swiftly turned away and took flight. Quickly becoming a speck in the sky as it speedily gained altitude.
"Didn't even look back or say goodbye." Vin kicked a clod of dirt. "Hmph! Too bad, it's missing out. I'd make more than just steam and smoke come out of it. Such a shame, we would have made the whole Land shake with our passion."
It hit him that he was talking to himself. The dreadful feeling of standing alone, no one at his side, crashed into him.
Where's Giblet? He could be anywhere. I could be miles away from him."Giblet! Where are you Buddy??"
Giblet rolled himself out from behind a tree. Fanfare music blared out of the fluff ball, as if he were a King approaching.
Vin rushed over to Giblet, picked him up and squeezed him tight. Kissed his fluff numerous times.
"I love you Gibs. Never leave my side."
