A CHORUS OF arguments shook the room. This kid really does have a death wish, Sylvia thought as she ran a hand down her face exasperatedly. She wondered how a genius like him—one who built the damn Maze—could say something so incredibly stupid.

Newt very calmly stood up, walked over to Thomas and grabbed him by the arm. He pulled him toward the door. "You're leaving. Now."

Thomas looked stunned. "Leaving? Why?"

"Think you've said enough for one meeting. We need to talk and decide what to do—without you here." They had reached the door and Newt gave him a gentle push outside. He continued talking to Thomas in a low voice and Sylvia couldn't make out what they were saying.

Sylvia turned to Minho and sighed. "I'm gonna kill him."

"Thomas?" Minho laughed.

"He's an idiot!" She hissed. "I don't know how he can be so freaking smart and so fucking stupid at the same time."

Minho shook his head, an amused smile playing on his lips. "You know who he reminds me of?"

"Who?"

"Nick."

Sylvia bowed her head for a second, and then looked back to him with pursed lips. "I was kind of thinking the same thing. God, he even looks like him."

Minho laughed again. "Sure does act like him too."

She subconsciously touched the twine at her wrist, running a thumb over the edges. "I mean, I think that's why you get along with him so well."

"You think?" He questioned. "How do you feel about him?"

"I don't know." She said. "He was one of the Creators."

"What, you think he's a spy?" Minho chuckled, but Sylvia could tell he was actually waiting for the answer.

Sylvia shook her head, her lips twitching. "Nah. He's too much of a wimp to be a spy."
