Chapter 28

MEL'S POV

The next morning I wake up to the same nurse as yesterday reading my notes again and checking everything was okay. "How are you feeling today?" She asks, smiling.
"I'm feeling better thanks. I just hope it heals quickly." She nods.
"I'll go get the doctor." She exits the room to find Dr whatever his name is.

"Good morning." He says as he enters the room. "I'm pleased to tell you that you can definitely go home today, if you're comfortable with that of course."
"Yes, I'd love to."
"Okay good. Remember what I said yesterday, no moving around or putting strain on your side. Youre getting picked up, I assume?"
"Yeah, they'll be here soon. Thanks for all of your help." He nods and leaves the room.
I reach over carefully and pick up my phone. I press the button so the screen lights up - 09:24. Louis' probably still asleep, I think to my myself before my phone buzzed. It was a text from Kat, it read:
"Hey Mel, can't wait for you to come home today! Hope you're feeling okay :) xx"
I smile and quickly type my message back and put my phone back down, thinking about the day ahead of me.

LOUIS' POV

I wake up at 7am, getting ready for Mel's surprise today. I can't wait to see her face! I get up, quickly have a shower, get dressed and do my hair. I eat breakfast, brush my teeth and then make sure everyone is up and ready. "I'm gonna go pick the surprise guests up from the station!" I shout into the house and close the door, Kat coming with me. (She stayed last night with Niall.) We hopped into my car and drove to the station, picking up Mel's 'surprise'.
When we get back to my house, we quickly set up and add the finishing touches. "Right, I'm going to go get Mel, it's 10:39, she's probably wondering where I am. Make sure everything's ready! It's going to be great!" I say to the others before leaving.

I arrive at the hospital and make my way to Mel's room. She's still lying in bed. "Morning! Sorry I'm late, I, I urm overslept."
"That's okay. I figured you would, you must've been knackered. Now, help me get my stuff!" She says cheekily. I smile and collect her stuff and put into a bag that I had brought with me.
I help her sit up and get out of the bed and help her towards the doors after the doctor said she could officially go home. I had her bag swung around my shoulder and had Mel leaning on my right side, my arms supporting her as she walked. We got to the car and I carefully unlocked it and opened the door, helping Mel to sit down. I went round to my side whilst she done her seat belt up. I sat down and put mine on. "Ready?" I ask, taking her hand.
"Ready." She replied. I smiled and exited the hospital car park, thank god!
"I can't wait to get home!" I heard Mel say as we pulled up to a red light.
"Well that's too bad, you're not going home."
"What do you mean?" She asks, confused as the light turns green again.
"You're staying at my house of course! Where there's tons of people to look after you!"
"Kats at my house though!"
"Yes..but there's 6 people at my house."
"Six?" Mel questions.
"Yeah, Ed's still here for another a week." I reply.
"Oh yeah. Forgot." She laughed.

We pull up outside my house and it's quiet inside. Good, it means they're sticking to the plan!

MEL'S POV
As we walk - well, as Louis walks and I limp, towards the house it's very quiet. Strange? Louis takes his keys from his pocket and opens the door. It's dark, even stranger? Louis turns on the light and - "SURPRISE!!!" Everyone shouts whilst jumping up. There were a few balloons and bits and bobs around. "Guys, you didn't have to do thi- OMG ELLEN, SOPHIE!!" I scream when I see 2 of my best mates that I haven't seen in about a year, standing in the corner! Louis tries holding me up a bit more when they come over to hug me. He sits me down and they both come and sit by me. "Kat was this your doing?" I ask, referring to Ellen and Sophie being here. "Nope, surprisingly not! It was Louis' idea, he text me yesterday to get them to come down if they could."
"Ohhhh so that's who you were messaging! Thanks Lou!" I smile and put my arms out, making him hug me. "It's okay. I knew how much you've been wanting to see them and I thought this was the perfect time." I smile again and start chatting to Ellen and Sophie.
Ellen and Sophie are about my age, well, Sophie is 21 like me but Ellen is 23. Ellen has green eyes and naturally brown hair, however she has dyed it multicoloured, Sophie has blue eyes and light brown hair. They're both really pretty and are taller than me. "I've missed you guys!" I say.
"We've missed you too." Sophie says.
"Yup. It's not been the same without you." Ellen adds.
"Thanks again Lou." I say, looking up at him. "Kat come over here and give me a hug!" I shout and she does so, making me laugh. "Are you together yet?" I whisper to Kat as she hugs me. She lets go of me and raises an eyebrow, a bit confused. I nod towards Niall who is eating some food. She laughs and shakes her head 'no'.
"What, you two are together?!" Sophie asks Kat.
"Not exactly, no, not yet." Kat replies, blushing slightly.

Throughout the day and evening, I had people getting me stuff, taking me to the bathroom, etc. I've had enough of it already! God I hope this wound heels soon ! Like, really soon!
I sit there, reading my book whilst the others are doing their own thing; Kat, Niall and Zayn are watching TV, Sophie, Ellen, Harry and Liam are playing the play station and Ed and Louis are just talking.
I carry on reading my book, trying not to cry at the sad part of the story. Why do I do this to myself and read sad books? "You okay?" Ed asks as he sits down next to me. "Urm yeah I'm alright thanks. Just tired and reading a sad book." I say, placing my book down.
"Do you need anything?"
"Nope, I'm good thanks." I smile and Ed stands up. He smiles back and goes and takes over Liam's place on the play station.
After reading my book for another 20 minutes, I get bored and place the book down, sighing to myself. I pick my phone up and start to play a game. I plug my earphones in and listen to my music whilst doing so. I was about to fall asleep when Kat, Ellen and Sophie sat next to me. "Wake up!" Sophie says, making me quickly open my eyes. "What, what's going on?" I say, covering my eyes with my hands. "We just wanted to talk!" Ellen says. I bring my hands away and rub my eyes.
"But I was almost asleep!"
"And...now you're not." Kat says.
"Fine, what did you want to talk about?" I ask.
"Well...this Louis of yours!" Sophie replies.
"What about him? There's nothing to tell. Anyway, what about you two and your love lives? I already know about Kat's." I ask, smirking at Kat.
"I'm not dating anyone, but I have my eye on somebody." Ellen replies.
"Who?!" Sophie and I both ask.
"It's, urm, someone here actually. It's..Harry."
"OMG ! He's single too! We'll work on getting you two together!" I say. "Now, what about you Sophie ?" I add.
"Urm.. I'm sort of seeing someone back home.. His name is Owen. He has blonde hair and green eyes. We've been together for about 6 months now."
"What! Why didn't you text or call me?! Or even Skype me?!" I ask, smiling at her.
"I don't know, just didn't think it was a big deal." She replied.
"Well it is!" I say, smirking. "Wanna watch frozen?" I ask them.
"Yes!!" Ellen replies.
"It's upstairs so one of you are going to have to get it. It's on my shelf near my bedroom door." I say.
"Okay." Sophie says and walks upstairs. "Bring me blankets and pillows too please!" I shout up and hear her sigh dramatically. "Anyone else watching it with us?" Kat asks.
"I have no idea." I respond as I realise everyone has gone to another room except from Harry who has fallen asleep on the other chair. "Guess not." I say and laugh. Sophie then comes running down the stairs with the film, blankets and pillows in hand. "Thankyouuu!" I say, taking the pillow and carefully putting it behind me. Sophie put the film on and then she came and sat next to Ellen, Kat tand I. We grabbed the blankets and enjoyed the film that we probably shouldn't enjoy at our age...Oh well.

For the rest of the night, it went like that. Sophie, Ellen, Kat and I watched frozen and I didn't have to move once! Well, except from going to the toilet of course! Let's just hope my side gets better quick!
