Twenty-Nine

Ella and Mick had been living together for a few weeks now. And it had been going well. They had been getting the odd comment here and there about it. But they didn't listen.

Both of them were trying to make it work. Knowing that the odds were stacked against them. Ella was thankful that she had Amelia on her side. Knowing that things with their mum were complicated.

All that Ella knew was that things were going well for her. And she wanted to somehow keep them working out.

Morning came and she found herself lying in bed with Mick. He was running his hand along her baby bump.

Ella smiled. "I love this. Waking up with you."

"I love it too. I love you."

"Love you too. You're my future. My everything. And I don't know what else I can do to show you how much I love you," Ella said.

Mick smiled. He kissed her lips gently. "You could marry me one day. Have the same name as our baby," he said as he looked into her eyes.

Ella's eyes widened as she looked to him. She wasn't expecting him to want to marry her. She just thought they'd stay together for the sake of their baby.

"I'd love nothing more than to marry you."

"Soon. We'll make it happen soon," Mick said as he kissed her lips again.

Ella was in shock at how well her life seemed to be going. She couldn't believe it at all.

Ella smiled as she saw Amelia. She walked over to her. "Mick wants to marry me. Me... getting married."

Amelia smiled as she looked to her. "I'm happy for you. You honestly deserve it. I know things haven't been easy with mum. But you deserve this happiness," she said.

Ella looked to her. "Are you okay?"

"I think there's something going on with Jack and Denise. They're whispering in corners. I don't know. But I don't trust her," Amelia said.

Ella frowned. She knew how Jack made her sister happy. And she didn't want that messed up. "You need to talk to him Meli. You need to get him to tell you what's going on. It's not fair he's doing this to you."

Amelia smiled. "I'm happy you're getting what you really deserve. And that's a loving family."

Ella walked into the gym where Jack was. She looked to him. "If you even think about cheating on my sister, I will end your miserable existence. Okay?"

"Cheating?"

Ella nodded. "She's seen you with Denise. She's not an idiot. So don't treat her like one. She knows there's something going on. Be honest with her."

Jack sighed. He looked to her. "I'm not cheating with Denise. I was getting her opinion on taking Amelia on holiday. Just me and her," he said.

Ella grinned and rolled her eyes. "Ask me. I'm only her sister you idiot."

Mick pulled Ella into his arms when she returned. He kissed her lips passionately. "I love you."

"I love you too."

The two of them kissed as Mick pushed her against the wall. But would things work for them? Or would it all go completely wrong?
