Twenty-Three

Ella hadn't seen Mick since she had been admitted into the hospital. She was worried that he didn't want her anymore. That he didn't want their baby anymore.

Ella woke that morning. She walked downstairs and saw Jack in his boxers. "Oh my god!" Ella squealed.

Amelia came running in. She smiled. "Oh god. That's a sight you didn't want to see. Me however, yes please."

Ella groaned. "Can your fancy man keep his clothes on? I don't need to throw up my breakfast before I've even eaten it," she told her.

Amelia smiled. She looked at her. "Have you talked to baby daddy?" She asked as she looked at her.

Ella shook her head and sighed. She had no idea what she was going to do about it all. She looked at her sister. "Will you come into town with me? I have to start finishing off getting things for the baby," she said.

"Sure."

The two sisters went into the square. Ella saw Mick and sighed. She looked to see Mick standing with Linda. She sighed.

Amelia frowned. "Do you want me to talk to him? It's not fair how he's treating you. You're having his baby."

Ella shook her head and sighed. "It's fine. I just... I'm having this baby and by the looks of things, I'm going to be doing it alone. And that scares me. It's not what I wanted when I found out I was pregnant," she mumbled.

Amelia looked at her. "You won't be alone. I'll be by your side. I promise. And if your baby ends up with no dad, you can have Jack," she said.

Ella laughed. She smiled. "Thanks Meli. I'm glad you're here," she mumbled. She sighed. "Have you seen mum?"

Amelia shook her head. "No. I'm guessing she's on a bender though. As long as she keeps away from us, I'm not bothered. She put you in so much danger and I'm not having it."

Ella was walking back home. She saw Mick motioning for her to go in the alley the side of the pub. She sighed. "Now you want to talk to me?" She asked.

"Linda is guessing something is going on. I've been keeping her from working it out. But I promise. I do still want you and our baby. Do you believe me?"

Ella nodded. She looked to him and sighed. "I-I do. I love you so much," she mumbled.

"I love you too."

The two of them heatedly kissed. Ella pulled away and smiled. "I should go. I need to get these back," she mumbled as she picked up her bags and walked off.

Ella was sitting in the house. She looked up as Amelia ran in. She frowned. "What's happened?" Ella asked as she looked at her.

"It's mum. She's in the pub. Telling everyone who listens that Mick has been cheating on Linda. She said that she saw him kissing someone today. I-I don't know if she saw you. If it was you."

Ella paled. She looked at Amelia. "What the hell am I going to do?"

"I don't know. But I think you should be careful now."

Ella nodded. But she had no idea how this was going to be the start of everything changing. And Ella wasn't so sure she could handle it.
