Matteo's PoV <3
........................................

Cami slowly wakes up and stretches out her small arms against my chest. I lower her down into the car seat, where she adjusts herself and closes her eyes once more.

She looks so peaceful, and it angers me that she was able to fall asleep in Isabella's arms.

Since my mother died a couple of years ago, I was the only one who could get her to fall asleep. I was the only one who could calm her down and cheer her up. I was the only one who could make her feel safe.

Not Isabella. That fucking princess doesn't know shit.

Cami really couldn't have chosen a worse person to fall asleep on. The daughter of the fucking Spanish Mafia. Pathetic.

"Matteo James Romano." I hear Aurora's heels snapping against the concrete stairs as she walks down the driveway. She leans against the side of the black car and raises her pointed finger in my face.

"What the fuck was that all about?" Aurora continues as Alex and Lucas follow her out of the large house. Alex wraps a comforting hand across Aurora's waist to try and calm her down, but she pushes him off.

She runs a frustrated hand through her red hair and looks at me expectantly. She sounds like my mother.

"Leave it, Rory. She touched Cami." I mumble, pinching the bridge of my nose in frustration.

"Leave it?" She yells at me before beginning in Italian. "Carlos voleva che questa alleanza andasse bene. Quindi facci un favore e mantieni i tuoi problemi di gelosia al minimo."
[Translation - "Carlos wanted this alliance to go well. So do us all a favour and keep your jealousy issues to a fucking minimal."]

Alex grabbed her hand and pulled her to the other side of the car. She carried on yelling in Italian, but I stopped listening.

Rory reminds me of my mother when we were in trouble. I remember one time I accidently shot Alex in the leg and she didn't speak to me for nearly six months.

She's stubborn and doesn't let anyone take advantage of her. It's extremely annoying at times but at least I know she's always being safe, and a small part of me hopes that Cami will grow up to be the same way.

"Teo. We need to go back inside for the meeting." Lucas reminds me. He loosens his black tie and chuckes his black jacket into the car. I do the same, my jaw clenching.

I look over to Cami's sleeping face through the car window and my anger calms almost instantly. Fuck, why was I so rude.

Isabella looked fucking petrified to the point she took a step backwards. Her green eyes had turned glossy in the light and her hand gripped the piano so tight that it made her arm shake.

I wasn't going to hurt her, I was just angry.

But she didn't know that.

Frustrated, I climb the concrete stairs back into the house. The hallway is completely empty, and a maid directs us upstairs to one of the meeting rooms.
