"𝐌𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐘, 𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐌𝐘 𝐎𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐆𝐄 𝐒𝐎𝐃𝐀 𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐘"
"𝐘𝐀 𝐋𝐄𝐕𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐌𝐈𝐉𝐀, 𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐋𝐀𝐒 𝟖!" were the words Luz heard before groaning in agony. "Si mami, estoy despierta!" she yelled back. First days of school were never good for anyone. Something always had to mess up before or during school.
A knock was heard from Luz's door. "Hi Luz", a quiet voice said. "Oh, hi Monica". Luz had a younger sister only about 7 years younger than her. Monica went straight to Luz and hugged her. Luz and Monica had an amazing sister relationship, it was like no other. "You need to start getting ready baby, its your first day of 4th grade". "But Luz I'm scared, what if the kids make fun of me or they bully me", asked Monica in a sullen tone. Luz was worried for her sister, Monica was shy kid. Never getting in trouble, always on task, quiet and respectful. Luz's mom always taught them to be respectful towards everyone no matter what. "Listen, if those kids are mean to you, tell mami or me." reassuring Monica nobody was going to hurt her.
Monica hugged Luz a last time before leaving her room. "What to wear, what to wear..." Luz didn't have a "style" of clothing. She just wore whatever worked best for her. As long as they matched with her mood of the day, they were okay. Finally after looking for the perfect outfit, she sat down to do her makeup. While being Mexican gave her those common features, her Native side gave her slanted eyes and a dark skin tone. Both of Luz's parents were Mexican but her great grandmother was Native-American. Luz was greatful of the gorgeous features she had.
It took a while for Luz to finish hair and makeup but in the end they looked good for the day. Luz had luxorious products to enhance her appearance.Things most teenagers could never afford. The thing is, Luz's parents were rich. Filthy rich. You'd expect Luz to brag about her wealthiness but she was quite humble about it. Never speaking about it unless asked.
__________________________________𝐀 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐃 𝐃𝐀𝐘 was something new for Luz. Her family had just moved from California and over there it was always sunny. The cold was something she enjoyed. "Ya llegamos mi amor" Luz's mom told her. "Oh really? That was fast." Luz said being shocked at how close the school was to her house. "Si mamas, ahora te voy decir algo. Quiero que seas amable y respuetosa a todos. No quiero que tengas problemas con alguien en tu primer dia". "Ya se mami, me tengo que ir. Te amo". Luz kissed her mom on the cheek and then Monica on hers. "Bye Luz!" was the last thing she heard before leaving.
Walking into the office was awkward mostly because of how nobody was in there. Luz had taken some German speaking classes before moving. She knew how to speak it a little bit but understood most of it. "Hi, ich bin hier, um meinen Zeitplan zu bekommen? (Hi, Im here to get my schedule?)" asked Luz in a questioning tone. She prayed that she pronounced everything right as she practiced this phrase a dozen times. "Ja Schatz, wie heißt du?(Yes sweetie, what's your name?)" responded the sweet office lady. "Luz Aguilar" told the lady. "Auf geht's Schatz, hab einen schönen Tag!(Here you go dear, have a nice day!)". said the lady as she handed Luz her schedule. "Danke!"
__________________________________"𝐖𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐄𝐋𝐋 𝐈𝐒 𝐑𝐎𝐎𝐌 𝟏𝟕𝟖?" whispered Luz in annoyance. The school was 3 floors. Each floor having around 70 classrooms, restrooms, a cafeteria, and other rooms. Luz guessed that room 178 was on the 3rd floor. After 15 minutes of searching the ginormous school, she finally made it to room 178. Luz's old school was not as big as this one. She knocked on the door before it being opened by the teacher. "Ah, you must be our new student! Welcome to our classroom!" greeting her. Luz smiled and made her way inside.
"Would you like to introduce yourself?" asked the teacher. "Hi, I'm Luz and I just moved from California." said Luz nervously but with confidence. The entire classroom greeted Luz in a respectful manner. She could feel everyone's eyes on her. It was like she was a animal at a zoo and these people were trying to look all over her. "Where can I sit?" asked the nervous girl. "Over there by the window, right in front of that boy." responded the teacher. She thanked her and excused herself. She made her way to her seat and smiled at the boy behind her. He was a very interesting personality to look at. His style was different from most people in the room.
He tapped her on the shoulder, "Hey, I like your outfit" he complimented her. "Oh, thank you! I love your style!" complimented back the sweet boy. "My name is Bill" he presented himself. "Im Luz, you probably already know that" laughed the awkward girl.
